Re: Sellers check your PHOTOS on newly auto relist items...

This is a known issue and eBay says they are working on it.

Here is the workaround that you can do for individual listings or in bulk for ALL your listings (if you don't want to waste time trying to find the affected listings:

For one listing - Click Revise, then submit. You don't have to make any changes.

For all listings - Check the box above the individual checkboxes to the left of your active listings to select all. Click Edit. Again here, no edits are necessary. On the Bulk Edit page, click Submit changes, then Confirm and Submit, then OK. Your photos will be restored.

Meanwhile, eBay encourages all members affected by this bug to call and report it. Click Call us at the bottom of this page:

I have two listings this morning  in the last 2.5 hours that have relisted with pictures.

I just had 2 more GTC Listings relist successfully with pictures, within the past hour.

Has eBay communicated somehow that this problem is fixed or are we still having to check our listings every hour to make sure everything is working correctly?

Are other sellers still experiencing losing their pictures on relists that have relisted in the last ~6 hours?

eBay says the problem is not yet fixed. It does not affect all listings (it seems spradic) and eBay says it does not affect all users.

Re: Sellers check your PHOTOS on newly auto relist items...

I've had 2 roll over in the last couple of hours and pictures stayed intact, so it does appear to be fixed as far as it not happening to more listings. The ones that lost pictures still are not fixed, however.

IMO the way ebay has handled this issue is horrible and shameful. The only thing we've gotten was on Friday when @Anonymous was kind enough to post here and a couple of other threads that they were aware and "working on it". Nothing on the system status, no announcement, the only way people know whats going on is if they saw it here on the boards or happened to click into one of their affected listings. I'm sure there are tons of affected sellers who STILL don't know.

Now that it appears to be fixed for new listings rolling over, ebay continues to remain silent on the issue, with literally NO guidance to sellers on what we need to do, if anything, to remedy OUR situations.

THIS kind of unprofessionalism, ebay, is why your site lags behind the big boys in the game.

Thank you. That information is very helpful as I have 30-40 that will relist throughout the day. I am tempted to take them all down myself in advance and bulk relist.

I have also noticed this. It is upsetting and I hope it is resolved without me having to put more time into taking pictures also over again on already listed items. So frustrating. Has anyone also noticed they're getting zero views on all items? Not sure what is up with this.

I just tried this fix:
For one listing - Click Revise, then submit. You don't have to make any changes.

It only restores the gallery photo, and not any additional photos :(...  I have zero confidence that Ebay will be able to restore the wiped out photos.

Roger that, @hioctane62

If I had received a communication/warning from eBay, I would have been taking listings down manually and been relisting them myself, right from the start. (easy peasy).

EBay sends email about every "this and that" but nothing on a major malfunction can can seriously effect so many seller's overall listing presentations and bottom line.

With a communication warning from ebay, I would not be in this boat I am now with ~75 listings with no pics. The absolute magnitude of this debacle will not be known until eBay's next quarterly results come out. I would be certain that it will have a noticeable impact on earnings.

So sorry for all the sellers seeing these same problems and the sellers that have not even yet found out how their businesses have been effected.

FYI: This workaround only restores the main picture. Any additional pics do NOT restore.

Yup I agree with the others, this workaround only restores the main picture. Any additional pics do NOT restore. Still have affected listings myself, and I think I will start calling eBay tomorrow (monday) to report this bug as well. I thin,k today is pointless because all thech are off and calls will be directed to people off-country.

I just had another GTC relist and the photos were intact. This was ~10 minutes ago.

Re: Sellers check your PHOTOS on newly auto relist items...

I know I'm going to regret this, but I've started to re-upload my pictures, it's just been too long. I have a feeling that when they do fix it I will have double photos and have to go back in and delete the duplicates. That is just the way it works around here. But there's no telling how long it is going to take them to fix this and since we aren't hearing anything from them I can't wait around for the resolution (if there will be one).

I suspect you are doing the right thing, as I have zero confidence in ebay being able to restore our pictures. I'm tempted to at least do the revise to restore the gallery pic.

Double photos are better than no photos.
Having worked in tech for many years, I just can't believe this incompetence. Surely there must be some quality-assurance before an upgrade. Doesn't the software get a test?
With this track-record, I wouldn't hold my breath for a clean Ebay recovery of missing pictures. You are probably wise to do it yourself.
