Sellers beware: Item appearing in search Best Match, but NOT sorted by price!

Just a PSA to any sellers to check their listings, because the issue of items not appearing EVEN WHEN SORTED BY PRICE has returned, and is reproduceable right now.

We have a 8 pc kit for Ignition Coil UF535.

When I search eBay with best match, the item shows up:

If I switch to sort by price, it's gone:

I would appreciate it if anyone could test this as well and provide your results. I've already asked a friend in a different state than my own and he had the same results. It would greatly help to assist in proving to any nay-sayers who do not believe me, to show that this DOES indeed happen.

I found no exact matches for "8 pc kit for Ignition Coil UF535". Didn't even have to sort. 

Without clicking through each 'ignition coil' (which I won't do)… I suppose you're right. Maybe you could add more detail?

In this category, you can simply search by part code of UF535. The Item Specific fields for MPN, Other Part Number, and Interchange Part Number are fully indexed in most of the Motors categories, since mechanics search by part# (unless doing a vehicle search, which is also bugged at the moment and saying our items don't fit, but that is a different tech issue from this subject)..

To confirm this issue, all you need to do is search "UF535" and sort by price, and go to $119.45 and note if it is missing or not. 

Aside from that, you can switch back to Best Match and hit cntl + f, type 119.45 to find it.

I'd test it out but what would the search be for?

I figured out what the item was (you didn't make it easy) but when I search "OE Quality Ignition Coil on Plug Set 8PCS" I only get two results, your item plus your item "promoted", no point in switching between Best Match and Price when there is only two matches.

P.S. There were 260 listings (my page is set for 200 at a time) and it was about 1/3 of the way down my first page.

In best match? Or sort by price?

Please refer to message #3, in this category, since mechanics search by part#, the part number fields are fully indexed.

Thank you for the advice. I have already seen some other issues I'd like to revise on the listing as well.

But this differs from the problem I'm seeing right now (Items appearing when sorted one way, but not when sorted the other way). So I'm holding off on revising for now.

Thank you for the feedback! It seems if the item is showing up when you're set to "sort by price", then our results are differing.

I'm curious as to what percentage of users might see, or not see, this item when sorted by price.

By "UF535"  by price you show up at position 69. (high to low)

by "8pc UF535" by price you show up in position 12.  (high to low)

I searched ,"OEM Quality Ignition Coil 3 PCS Mercedes-Benz C230 C350 CL550/ Sprinter," and with best match and lowest price your item showed top of the list. Do you have a vehicle on file that could be effecting your search by filtering only parts for that vehicle?

I get a total of 16 results.

It is fourth in price low to high when I search 8 pc ignition Coil UF535. It's also fourth in best match.

I see yours when I search as others have shared with you.  And I can sort by price.

Now with that said, Ebay is still having screwy search returns due to promoted listings.  They are at the top and mixed in the return at times.  It makes it difficult to say the least.  So maybe some of your issue along with some listing revisions suggested, is because of promoted listings.
