How many % of loss did ebay get this year. Yet it still cost us ''stupid moron sellers'' an arm and leg to sale out here. But they seem to have had at least if not more 40% drop of activity or sellers around here.
They took away their cash cow's us seller's freedom , no longer negative review possible ect ect. We are consealed into a small box bent over and accepting it up the ***.
This is a ghost town are we seeing he last maximum 5 years of ebay?
I think i will move my items somewhere else cause this place is Beyond dead!!!!!!
Anyone think this is finish after 2020 or later? i don't see how ebay can come back from that.

If anything putting rules on sellers and protecting buyers helped sales. I don’t th8nk that’s what is causing the problem. I think it’s changes to the marketplace plus increasing eBay complexity and software issues.
the artificial intelligence they are implementing is anything but intelligent. They took all of the fun out of the site when they dumbed it down for commodity buyers.

Every season, every Ebay policy change, sellers say they are leaving. I don't know the rate of exit compared to the rate of new seller sign ups. I have used EBAY for sales and buying since 2005, and others like you have predicted their demise....EBAY is still viable for many people.
Some leave, some work around or adapt to policy, some complain, just the way it is.

eBay's dollar volume of merchandise sold could drop by 20% per year for the next 10 years and they would still be selling $10 billion here.
But the truth is that eBay's dollar volume of merchandise sold has actually been growing every quarter for at least the last five years. So while your items may not be selling, eBay as a whole seems to be doing just fine.
Predictions of eBay's demise have been made on this board every week for a decade now. I have no doubt that if people keep making those predictions, at some point in the next couple decades one of those predictions will turn to be accurate.

I’ve seen projections of ebay’s demise since I joined the boards in 1999. It has been a lot longer than a decade.

During this slump in sales, I suggest you work on:
Titles that give more information
Condition Descriptions ... Exactly what condition is the item in? Are there any flaws?
Item Specifics ... fill in all of the ones eBay suggests and add your own. Item Specifics are searchable and they drive the filters on the left hand side of the page (PC) and under the "Filters" on mobile.
Descriptions that actually describe the item you are selling.
Pictures ... more than one per listing. Turn off your flash and get some better lighting.
This listing, for example .... what figures are included (names)? How big are they? What are they made of? What brand are they? Which ones have card stock discoloration?

You're selling collectibles and they are a slow sell. That's why nothing is selling. I know this because I sell collectibles too. They are a "want" rather than a need. So people only buy them if and when they have extra money to throw around. Right no, apparently no one does.

Not only that, but I'm wondering who the OP is marketing to specifically? Is he marketing mostly to other Canadians who are getting a cheaper shipping price?
I am in the USA, Midwest area and I am looking at the shipping prices ... I see a $45 item with $22 shipping, a $30 item with $19 shipping, a $21 item with $12 shipping... etc, etc, etc.
No way would I EVER buy something where the shipping is 1/3 to 1/2 or more of the value of the item...

Yup. Sales are down.
In collectibles.
For sellers that don't have a "customer first" mentality.
How many iphone sellers that ship the same day and offer great service do we see posting here about how they're gonna leave eBay?
They're all too busy counting their money. eBay sales overall are way up.

99% of the iPhone sellers on here are complaining about scams and nonpayment. I don’t know if you’re seeing different iPhone sellers than I am?

LOL - iphone sellers that post here are usually in a panic because they shipped the phone to an address from a phished email, and why can't eBay or the USPS or PayPal please help them...

I used to think talk of splitting eBay was crazy. That collectibles and commodity eBay could operate under the same rules. However the rate of scams and disgruntled buyers is much higher for commodities and as eBay tried to control commodity sales they took the joy out of collectible. It used to be all fun and serendipity. Now it’s all messed up searches and disgruntled sellers

So true. I was interested in an item a seller had posted(Barbie doll 3 dresses, not more than 5 oz to ship), but the shipping was rather high. I asked the seller if he could add ship first class pkg as a shipping option. For this item first class shipping without handling would be $3.50.
His response was "the extra cost was well worth it for me because it was in a padded priority envelope, and had insurance TO PROTECT ME". His handling cost was over $4.00. And he said he was not going to use "CHEAP SHIPPING", like FIRST CLASS for his customers.
So instead of using a plain bubble envelope, with first class pkg shipping, he would rather charge his buyers more money and handling and most likely loose buyers and sales in the process. I hit the back button on that item. Too experienced to fall for that seller's nonsense, and lack of buyer consideration.

Penguins gave some good advise.
I checked a few of your listings and I wouldn't pay the price you're asking, not knowing what I was buying and condition the items are in.
Use more pictures and better descriptions.
The figure lots, I can't tell from the pictures what the figures are.
List each figure and give a description of each item included.
I did happen to notice this description:
"Lot of 16 japanese pro wrestling weekly collection.
Coming from mostly 2000-2002-2004 i think. Keep in superb shape. Will be packaged safely
Has lots of good articles and pictures."
Just looking at that makes me think, the seller has no idea what they are selling and I would back out and find another seller.
