Seller storm protection

Wow, l lost power for 5 days in December so I didn’t have internet.  I made it to post office and mailed my packages but couldn’t upload tracking info.  Called Ebay and explained the situation, they said they would take into account the weather.  Guess what!  No help at all.  Downgraded my status.  Seller protections seem to be worthless.  I am not a happy camper!!

Did you upload the tracking info when you got your power back?

EBay customer service has developed a reputation for telling callers what they want to hear even if that means lying to you. The simply want you off the phone as quickly as possible. Next time find someplace with an internet cafe or wi-fi you can tap into.

Ebay did announce a Weather Delay in your area about mid December.

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/Seller-Protections-for-shipping-delays-due-to-winter-sto...

We are three months later.  Why take so long to try and work this out?  In December when you realized you were getting some defects on your Seller Dashboard, that is the time to start asking.  And if a CSR told you in December they were going to take care of it, yet come January they are still there, it is time to get with Ebay again and again and again until they fixed the issue.  Referring to the link above.

Did you upload the tracking number when you got power back?

Were there scans on those tracking numbers?

Seller protections for weather are based on automatic processes, not based on calling in.

What metric had you failed? How low did your seller level go?

Yes I did upload the tracking info as soon as I got my power back.  That is why I am upset!

The day I got the email about the possible defects I contacted Ebay  and they said they were looking into it but couldn’t do anything about it immediately because the process was automated.   I wasn’t downgraded until the review in March.

Tracking numbers were uploaded manually.

I am old and don’t scan anything

Why does Ebay say weather protections are in place if there is no way to receive them?

I had 5 shipments that had the tracking information uploaded late.  This is the first time that I have been downgraded.  I have been a member of Ebay since 2005.

FYI, the March 20th eval becomes effective on April 1st.

I'd keep contacting Ebay and trying to get this fixed.  It is worth you time.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/eBay/

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.
