Ebay does not allow rentals, correct? I've tried to find it in the rules, I must not be searching right.
This is the listing, hope it okay to copy it here:
______________________________
RENT OSTRICH FEATHER CENTERPIECES / WEDDING / RENTAL / GATSBY PARTY / EVENT WE SHIP TO ALL STATES AS DO-IT-YOURSELF, simple setup
_______________________________
So how would that work? They say they have a "contract" for the rental.
If you rented feathers,. I guess for a wedding, the seller "contract' would have to say that if you don't return the feathers in perfect condition by xx date, we will charge your CC for the full price of the items? that violates Ebay rules, you can't charge after the fact. Or do they require full payment upfront and they'll refund after you return items by a specific date...?
Seller requires contact in order to get accurate shipping quote... maybe when the buyer contacts them, the seller just gives them their phone number or business name and says call me and we'll do this outside of ebay? So they're using ebay as a free advertisment?
I reported these listings months ago and they're still there (I stumbled back on it in my watch list, I'd forgotton about it, but gee, the listings are still there)
Rentals are not allowed, correct? There'd be no way to do rentals on ebay without violating ebay rules. So why didn't they take the listings down when they were reported? I don't go around reporting things, that's the 2nd time in over 15 years that I've ever reported a listing, but this is just so blatantly against all ebay rules. Sigh...

Interesting. Some people claim we're renting when we offer the 30 returns. To avoid a chargeback, you'd have to arrange your own returns. And if it didn't come back, you'd be out of luck. Giving out addresses and phone numbers is against eBay policy.

No that is not allowed - definitely not in the crafts category. I’m not sure if it would be permissible in the classified ad format under the everything else category but you can look it up if you’re really interested to find out.
