Hi,
I have been selling on ebay for long time (like over 10 years). I have noticed about 3 days or so ago, seller's location is no longer showing on the search result. Now I have to click every single listing to see where it is shipped from.
Is this just me or something ebay decided to make it permanent?

As far as I can tell with this new list view:
- Country is missing - in my opinion that's important info that should be included
- There is a new item specifics column in the middle
- The seller info on the right has changed to cut off the seller's ID - in my opinion that's important info that should not be truncated.
I used your search term japanese and the results were a bit more risqué so I blacked out some of the images.

I still see seller info and location when searching using keywords; when browsing a category the results are less consistent, though.
Others have made similar complaints regarding searches, so it is possible that there is some other factor involved -- possibly location of the searcher -- that affects things. If you do not see seller info when searching using keywords, check your search Customize menu (in the upper right of the search results page where you can switch between List or Gallery view) to make sure the seller information option is still checked.

It comes and goes. Been gone the last few days.

Thanks for the reply. I made sure to check seller's info is shown and still I don't see it.
I called in about 2 days ago and still waiting to hear from ebay.

I made sure to check seller's info is shown and still I don't see it.
What search are you doing? What location are you using to calculate your shipping estimates? Any difference if you try another browser?

I tried "Default", "North America", "US Only", and "Worldwide" and still no seller location is showing.
All I see is price, shipping cost, condition, and seller ID name and % of positive feedback and feedback number. Seller location is usually under seller's ID and feedback.
I am doing keyword search mainly. I tried go to main ebay homepage and simply type in random word in which default results will show (Sort: Best Match, Category: All, Item Location: Default) and still not showing sellers' item locations.
I am using Google Chrome and tried Firefox and Safari but still no good.

This is what I am seeing. No location is shown below seller ID.

Looks like a different format with the condition added in. See that blue feedback icon on the right? Click on that and submit feedback that you want to see seller info like location. I don't like how that format is cutting off the seller name, either. The % and number of feedback should be moved to the second line. It's not like there isn't room.
eBay runs a lot of tests like this. Make sure you always use the feedback link as those comments go to the product developers and can influence whether or not changes like this become permanent.

FWIW- If the seller is using Flat Rate shipping (or Free Shipping which is a subcategory of Flat Rate) the cost of shipping will not vary.
If the seller is using Calculated Shipping, eBay will be figuring the cost from their location, wherever that is, to your doorstep, making their location unimportant in terms of the cost, which you now know.
If time is a consideration, then the Shipping does give you an approximate delivery window, based on the service the seller chooses.
Since I ship from Canada, I use "Economy Shipping from an International Location" which tells my customer that it may take up to 23 days for arrival. This is a PYA on my part, since most arrive within a week, but it does I believe signal the customer that they won't get it tomorrow.
What is it you actually want to know?
If like many you are trying to avoid Chinese shippers, don't look at location. Too many lie* about that.
Look at how long it will take to arrive.
Then mark the last day on your calendar. If the purchase doesn't arrive by then, open a Claim and get your refund.
The purchase may arrive after the refund. That's a different problem though.
*And many US based dropshippers innocently or not give their own location instead of the overseas location of the goods.

I can recreate your search results in a new browser to see that search format, and the country location is not shown when the search results are shown in list view.
Changing to gallery view does show the country information, though.
I have used the "feedback" icon in the lower right of the search results to report that issue to eBay page developers; with any luck they may restore that to the list view.

Sounds good.
I tried "Gallery View" and that DOES show the location. List view still will not show seller's location.
I will send the feedback to ebay.
Thanks for your help!

I remember the same exact thing happened before (may be a couple months back). People were talking about the possible tests ebay was doing but ebay didn't tell me anything about it even when I asked.
I will be sending ebay a feedback. Thanks for your reply.

That's good advice for buyer's perspective.
I am worrying about locations not shown is not user friendly shopping experience at all. Long time ebay users know how to filter their search but new users will likely buy the cheapest one from the search, not knowing the item just bought is from overseas and it takes 2 weeks to get there.

Yes, it looks like you are getting very similar search results from mine (including risqué results, lol).
I do see the seller's location on "Gallery View" but not on "List View".
I just talked to the ebay rep and he said the ticket previous rep submitted on 10/1 still hasn't got looked at it and he also said he hasn't received any complaints regarding this issue so it may take a long time until they figure this out.
If anyone is having the same issue or affecting your sales due to this technical issue, please complain to ebay, otherwise they won't even consider fixing it.
Thank you for your help!
