Back in the day Ebay would pick random sellers and sit down with them and discuss changes, upgrades and just general day to day issues on Ebay. I think that would be a wonderful thing going forward. It seems like Ebay has been taken over by some holier than thou MBAs that could care less about the sellers that made Ebay what it is today. Ebay doesn't just consist of large mega seller but everything from people that sell a few things to people that supplement their income to small & medium sellers to mega companies. If Ebay either randomly picked sellers or took volunteers for the panels there might be a nice cross section of sellers with some outstanding suggestions. I would propose several panels in each state or country. Get the people that get their hands dirty, so to speak, on Ebay everyday. I am sure that all you MBAs mean well but most of you have no clue what it's like as a seller doing this day in and day out. I'm sure that someone will say that "this is the place to make suggestion and let your voice be heard" but frankly I don't think Ebay listens or cars what sellers actually think (unless it's some mega Chinese company).

But if you talk to some of those that were part of these panels that were flown out to the Ebay campus and met with the Ebay teams that were looking at making the changes, it was no different then than it is now. The Ebay teams already knew what they were going to do and would try to discuss the topics and convince the focus group to agree with what they wanted to do. At the end of the day, everything was done just like it is now, if you agreed with an idea, great, but if you did not, oh well we are doing it anyway.
The arrogance has always been there, but in the past Ebay went through the motions to make it look like they cared, now the Mantra has changed from "You Spoke and We Listened" to "Do it our Way or Hit the Highway". The CEO has flat out said this is how things are going to be and if you do not like it then move on as we have plenty of sellers to replace you. What Ebay still forgets is that almost all the sellers that leave were also buyers and the Chinese sellers they replace them with don't buy on this site. But Ebay cannot figure out why their growth continues along at 3-6% while other sites are all growing in double digits. As sellers leave here or start moving inventory they move the nicer stuff first to the new sites and not only does Ebay lose the sale, but the other sites gain the sales, thus doubling the negative effect of Ebays moves.

Beta tests going on all the time.
Problem is, we don't all agree with the results.
Some are not necessary. I work with what the give me.
I need a minimal system. Others need frills.
I am fortunate that the selling income pretty much only goes to the wife buying DVD's, books, clothes, and nail polish. Some rely on eBay to survive.
More of an amusement/stay busy thing for me. When it becomes a burden, I will stop selling.
