Seller's PAGE VS. Seller's HUB

Remember...we are not complaining about the sellers HUB...

We are complaining about the new seller's PAGE.

Everyone:  This is an important distinction.  The seller's HUB has been around for years and it has pretty much looked the way it is from day 1.

The sellers PAGE  is the one that they just changed.  The one that you all liked b/c it had everything on one page...that is the sellers PAGE.

The seller's HUB NEVER had everything on one page...EVER.

Seller's PAGE...do not forget.

Okay all...there is going to be the Weekly Chat with eBay Staff.  It is this Wednesday, 03.24.2021 at 1 PM PT

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Community-Chat-03-24-2021-1-00-pm-PT-General-Topics/m-p/317258...

It is only open for one hour.

Please pass it along to everyone - FLOOD THE CHAT WITH NON STOP COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS NEW ALL SELLING PAGE!  Let them know how user unfriendly this new format is...

Just because something "WORKS" does not mean that it works WELL. (and it does not work for us.)

I cannot attend...gotta work at my real job...😭

Seller's PAGE!

Re: Seller's PAGE VS. Seller's HUB

I agree it’s not user friendly. The seller page is very user friendly and gets everything done without much customer support. Now it’s not very user friendly and impossible to get any customer support. Takes so much time trying to find help I could be listing more items instead of wasting time on this seller page. We pay to list it should be more user friendly. It should be easier to use not more complicated.

Re: Seller's PAGE VS. Seller's HUB

SH was thrust on me when I was forced to sign up for Managed Payments under threat by eBay to discontinue my account if I didn't sign up.  Next I knew, Seller's Hub & selling pages were RAMMED DOWN MY THROAT without an option to opt out.  I immediately complained and was told that switching to MP automatically ends Classic View All Selling and there's no getting it back.  So from my view, it hardly matters whether I'm talking about Seller's Hub in general or SH's Selling page.  I was forced into it and the selling pages are a disaster.

It's 10 days since I switched to MP and eBay still hasn't forwarded funds from 5 sales to the checking account.  I just spent another HOUR with yet another rep, who characteristically, informed me that notes existed in his screen that I'd spoken to other reps but despite those reps' promises to me to "send a ticket" to IT about the issue, it was never done!!!  The latest rep, David M., assured me he now has notified IT.  Yea, right.   I have ZERO faith that he notified IT.   I have ZERO respect for eBay anymore.

I have been in MP for a month now and I could opt out of seller's hub...although the new seller's PAGE isn't much help either...it has a "seller's HUB flavor to it that's for sure.

You can try and opt out...see if it works...here's how to do it:

If you go 3/4 down the seller's hub page you will find Selling Tools.  At the bottom, you can opt out of seller's hub:

NOW...the old selling page that we loved has been replaced by this (!):

Let me know if you can opt out...

No, it was explicitly stated to me by Brandon, the first rep who guided me through setting up MP on March 14th, that it is impossible to go back once I transferred to MP.  This is how my Selling Tools looks - no option to opt out of SH.  Plus as you noted, the new selling screens are definitely SH-like.  Not the Classic View All Selling on one page.

I was taught not to hate, that in the case of something loathsome one should "simply" find the party contemptible and walk away.  But I'm hating eBay.  The investment I made on behalf of the charity for which I sell - often I would have liked the extra sleep or the extra time to myself but no, I sat up photographing, researching, composing, etc.  Now I'm moving what I can out.  I absolutely hate eBay's selling setup now.

So if I gave you the link to the seller's page...would it just redirect you back to the seller's hub?

I am wondering if you are set up as a business acct.  I have read on these boards that those who have their accounts set as business instead of personal are going to be forced into the hub.

If that is your case...I am SO sorry...☹️

Re: Seller's PAGE VS. Seller's HUB

Yes, as a direct seller for the rescue organization I had to register as a business, a 501(c)(3) business.  Previously it was a personal account except that all funds went directly into the organization's Paypal account which is hooked to the charity's checking account.  No personal account ever has been used on either platform.  But when I was forced to switch, they forced me to register as a business account.  I was okay with that, not knowing until after that I signed away my rights to opt out of SH.  However if I hadn't, I wouldn't have been allowed to sell for the organization past March 31st.  So I'm still selling for the organization, but WHERE IS THE ORGANIZATION'S MONEY FROM MY SALES????????   Answer:  sitting in eBay.

@hurryagain

Yes, all the links that folks have posted to get back to Classic View All Selling, and even your link takes me to Seller's Hub main page with all the boxes.  Disgusting waste of time getting out of there.  Sooooooooooo unhappy.

Re: Seller's PAGE VS. Seller's HUB

The link you give does take me back to the good ole all selling pages and not to seller hub!

Very nice and thanks.  I am business seller in managed payments for months.   Once in all selling, most of the links on the left there work properly staying in all selling except the summary link goes back to the new stuff and i have to start over with your link.  No idea why it varies by user?  Am using Chrome on desktop PC.

OMG...

I am so sorry.  I wonder why - if it's registered as a business that you and others are FORCED into the Hub.  Why is it so important to eBay that those registered as a business HAVE to use the hub and cannot use the seller's Page...I don't get it...why does eBay care which format you use?

This is another aspect that should be brought up at the meeting...it's either my ignorance of the importance of this businesses HAVE to use the Hub or it's just stupid.

Now as to the money for the sales...I have a feeling that it is b/c you are selling on behalf of a charity org.  I bet that there is going to be more documentation that they are going to want from you.  If it drags on forever, you will eventually have to get an arbiter or lawyer involved.

Again,  I am so sorry for your circumstances in all of this mess that it the seller's page (and forced seller's hub for you.)  😒

Re: Seller's PAGE VS. Seller's HUB

@babclassics

You are one of the lucky so far...you should be seeing that ugly new seller's age format soon.  I am on a PC using firefox.  I wrote back to Brian @ eBay and told him that I am not opposed to change...I am just opposed to change that is illogical.  Having everything that was so easy to see on one page suddenly get broken apart into several tabs that we need to toggle between is illogical.

I think that the programmers who made this format did so with the intention of having the new format work/merge well with other parts of eBay's system BUT did so with no regard as to how it would affect the end user.

Just b/c something works doesn't mean that it's good...it just means that it works.

We could put octagon shaped wheels on our cars and it would work but it obviously would not work as well as the round shaped ones that we currently use...but would it work?...sure...would it work well...uh..no.

IDK...this is just insane.

Re: Seller's PAGE VS. Seller's HUB

It shouldn't be that difficult - I already was administrator for the org registered with the Ebay Charity site for 16 years.  I already submitted all the paperwork (again) which I had to do 16 years ago, but did again on March 14th.  All the reps I spoke to between March 18th & March 23rd said everything appears good as there are no red banners or alerts showing more of anything is needed.  Further, the funds are showing as "available."  However, clearly, the money isn't being transferred so something isn't jiving.  What I really dislike is being led down the garden path.  The reps don't know; apparently the first 4 or 5 did nothing about it despite keeping me on the line an hour each time.  Now today's guy claims he filed an IT report but had no idea when or who would get back to me as the result of it.  Two of the previous ones offered a follow up call the day after.  Of course, neither made a follow up call to me.   It really sounds like they don't know; nobody knows, so they just keep putting me off.  It isn't as if I'm suddenly appearing on the scene with no paperwork.  I've 16 years of it with eBay's Charity site.   There is no excuse for eBay foisting its  dysfunction on me.

Re: Seller's PAGE VS. Seller's HUB

You can still go onto the selling page BUT be warned...they changed the layout of that too and you are NOT going to like it either,

If you go 3/4 down the seller's hub page you will find Selling Tools.  At the bottom, you can opt out of seller's hub:

NOW...the old selling page that we loved has been replaced by this:

It does remind me alot of the seller's HUB...

You will now have to click onto a separate page to see active, another to see sold, another to see unsold, another to see drafts, another to see...well...you get the picture.

Some are still able to see the old format...the rollout seems to be a phased thing but believe me...it is just a matter of time before this horrendous format hits EVERY seller...

...I am just hoping that it hits ALL SELLERS from ALL NATIONS...especially the really big sellers in China...LOL!!!  Maybe if they %#$ up a storm something will change...
