Seller liability if eBay lists item for 14 day return after May 31 yet should be 30?

1. Listed denim jacket in Clothing June 1 late day with 14 day return. Category where it should be 30 day return. I waited to see if eBay would auto go in and change, NOT. I thought we would get error message when listing, but No. So have left it as is at 14 day buyer pays. 

2. Today listed another jacket in Clothing.  Did get error message, but eBay still listed it at 14 with warning, but stated problem with Return Policy. So even though Live and at 14 day,  I went into Revise and changed it to 30 day with buyer paying return cause I panicked. 

Am letting the first one sit there at 14. What is my liability as far as return on the first one at 14 day if it sells?

If you're asking what eBay would do if a buyer asks for a remorse return on day 15 and the seller denies it - nobody knows for certain.  But personally I would accept the return and leave eBay out of the process.

It would be a mistake to presume that eBay's got your back; that's not the part of your anatomy they have a grip on.
