Seller Protection

Has anyone had an issue with this?

I sold several items to a buyer from Italy that said he had a friend in the US for delivery. I shipped the package to the US address using Ebay labels. The package was delivered.

Over a month later the buyer messages me from Italy saying they only received 3 of the 6 items (the items were not shipped to Italy). He then starts a dispute with his payment provider saying the item was not as described which it was not.

I supplied the one picture I was allowed including the weight of the 6 items and the postal clerks receipt showing the weight and a brief explanation. After 2 calls to support wondering if there is anything else I need to do in which they said I did not.  I received a resolution yesterday in favor of the buyer so now I am out both the product and the funds from the sale plus Ebay has charged me a $20 for a dispute fee.

Re: Seller Protection

you can be fairly sure they are using a frieght forwards system

@donsdetour

It could very well be the address of their grandma or cousin Vinnie....LOL...The important point is going to be 'if it was forwarded', not if the address is that of a commercial entity.

Re: Seller Protection

Unless you shipped to the address provided at checkout you have given up your seller protection.

Dang. Was the address changed by you, or did your Italian buyer list the US address on the Order?

I think the OP needs to answer this question before we can truly advise him how to proceed from here.  Also, the time line is not known, he may still have the ability to appeal the decision in the Buyer's favor by working thru a social media contact with e-Bay.

@sheldo-3193  - Hoping you come back to this thread so we can better determine what occurred with your Buyer's order.

Re: Seller Protection

Don't forget to update your BBL so you don't get scammed again by the same person in the future.   When they area successful in a scam, they will oftentimes try again.

This is a really good example of how bad of an idea it was to remove the ability of a seller to leave truthful negative feedback as a scammer would have loads of negs and would stick out like a working girl in church.

@sheldo-3193

That is really good news.  Guessing then you shipped this to the Buyer via a freight-forwarder?

You need to report your Buyer to e-Bay and state the same to them.  Report Buyer is a choice in the drop-down menu for this transaction.

You also need to work to appeal this decision thru e-Bay and once you have reported the buyer for abuse of the Money-Back guarantee, go to e-Bay for Business on Facebook

(16) eBay for Business | Facebook

Message them and outline the facts of this case.

You shipped your item to the address provided by e-Bay, in the US.

Your buyer lives in Italy.

Tracking shows your item was delivered (insert date/time and tracking with USPS).

Ask e-Bay to step in regarding this issue and see if they will.  On an item not as described, it might be difficult to reverse, but would still try.

Good luck!
