Seller Level

My eBay account has been "below standard" for consecutive months now and we were currently given a limit for our account which has caused us to not be able to list since we are already WAY over the new limit. The issues have mainly been that we had moved last year and many things were misplaced however we do not realize we don't have them until someone has already paid and is awaiting shipment then we have to cancel the orders for "out of stock ", we also have a high percentage of "cases closed without seller resolution" even though with most of these cases we were messaging back and forth with the buyer to try and resolve the matter. Is there anything we can do to improve our rating quicker and get our increased limit back? Our numbers from March to April improved but obviously not enough to get us out of below standard.

As I quote from eBay's article on seller performance:

Your seller level can fall to Below Standard if your transaction defect rate is above 2% or if your percentage of cases closed without seller resolution is above 0.3%.

I took a look at your feedback and some buyers said you were not answering to questions, so im assuming ebay stepped in for some cases and you are below standard (just my guess.) And if you are below standard for 2 consecutive months you will have your limits permanently changed

I am not an eBay employee but I sure feel like one sometimes

  • If you’ve sold less than 400 items in the last three months, your evaluation period is the last 12 months.
  • If you’ve sold at least 400 items in the last three months, your evaluation period is those three months.

As Panda pointed out your account can have permanent limitations soon if not remedied.  Am guessing you fall into the less than 400 items in prior 3 months, so e-Bay metrics eval  should apply your sales/cases/issues in the prior 12 months to your current eval which should have been 4/20.  Usually your dashboard tells you the metrics and if you click on the arrows to the right in that box, it will give you the drill down info.  You can also run a report to know exactly the date(s) of the transactions with the issues.

Go thru your listings asap to make certain every thing you have listed is "in-stock" before you have another issue with an order.  If one does crop up, work to resource the item from someone else if you can to avoid a cancellation for any reason.  Good luck.

Hi, sorry to hear you've had some issues with your seller performance. Ebay takes this pretty seriously. They recommend following the guidance offered in the policy below to assist you in raising your standing back to acceptable levels. I have included the link in case you have not reviewed that info.

It sounds to me like you need to take an inventory of your goods ASAP.

In addition to that, never let a case close without your taking appropriate action. That specifically means you must refund the customer prior to the deadlines that eBay sets. It is not enough to simply be in discussions with an unhappy customer. When a case is opened, it is already too late to negotiate with the buyer. In other words, when the eBay Money Back Guarantee is invoked, you have no choice but to refund, or you are going to jeopardize your selling privileges.

I recommend immediately familiarizing yourselves with the MBG terms so you will know exactly what eBay expects from you, before a case is opened, see link below. Sadly, there is no fast track available to pull yourselves out of the "below standard" designation. First, you need to pull any listings that cannot be fulfilled. Second, do not allow another case to be closed by eBay. If you do these two things, you might be able to right this ship. Good luck!
