Seller Level (Late Shipment Rate)

I just got a message from Ebay that I'm no longer a top seller. The reason is late shipment rate. I have been on Ebay selling since 2000 and just don't understand some of Ebay's reasonings when it comes to sellers. Just below late shipment rate on my overview it shows that I have a 100% Tracking uploaded on time and validated. Most of these late arrivals looks to be 2024 Holiday season purchases.  I guess what my point is I'm being punished when it is the postal service that is late not me. I have no control over a package once I drop it off at the post office. It just does not seem fair to use the Late Shipment Rate as a Criteria for Top Seller when I have no control on the outcome.

I can offer a couple hints to avoid this issue.  The late shipment rate can be avoided by getting your packages scanned within your handling time, then if it gets delivered late it won't count against you.   Plenty of my packages arrived late this season, but none counted against me.  You might even want to extend your handling time to help with this if you are missing the one day window you have set now.

There are two measures of on-time shipping.  One is "uploaded within your handling time and validated" which requires a scan at any point during the package's delivery, just to prove that the tracking number isn't fake. This is a TRS requirement. The second on-time measure is "Late shipment rate," which is more general and as noted in the other post it requires either (1) a scan within your handling time; or (2) delivery within the estimated delivery date.

So for example if you have 1-day handling, get paid on Monday, purchase the shipping label on Tuesday, and then actually ship and get an acceptance scan on Wednesday, that is OK for the first measure but could count against you for the second depending on when it's delivered.  For TRS, you have to have a Late Shipment Rate below 3%. Getting that acceptance scan is within your control.

@luv2buy50

Late Shipments and Late Arrivals are two completely different things.  Reviewing your Seller Dashboard should give you the details you need to figure out what is going on.

I suggest you really study your Seller Dashboard.  On the right side of each area is a down arrow.  You can click on that and get details to any Defects that have been placed on your account.

I always advise seller to review this report at the very least weekly.
