Seller Level (Below Standard) ??? Sales way down !!

So apparently our rating is now (Below Standard) yet we have same day shipping, and only 2 negatives for the year, 5,379+ rating, member more than 10+ years, same day shipping, 0.0% seller resolutions needed, and some Transaction defect Rate of 4.07% that really does not explain much when I click on it.

Is it just me or is eBay grading sellers harder now?  We used to sell at least 10 to 15 items per day but now its like 1 or 2 sales per day.  I was going to run a "Sales Promotion" and put a bunch of items on sale but ebay WONT let me because of the Seller Level being too low?? So how the #$@! do I bring our rating back up if I cannot even make more sales, or promote the items??   Its like they are hiding my listings now because the views and sales are way, way down from this time last year.  We are lucky to get 1 or 2 sales a day here, but on Amazon I get 20 ~ 30 per day for the exact same items?  Come on eBay WTH is going on?  Do you not want us here or what?  Ridiculous !!!

Yea, I dont get why we are responsable for USPS funk up... we aint the manager... lol

Put yourself in the buyer's shoes.  If you ordered something from Macy, Target, Amazon, Ebay, etc.  If the item never arrived or if the item arrived damages, are you saying you would do nothing about that except accept the damaged item or not care if the item every arrives?  Somehow I don't think so.

Besides that, this thread has nothing to do with any screw up by USPS anyway.  That is not the seller's issue at all.

Did he though?  In ebay's mind all they see is someone who can't manage their inventory.   I have no idea but they could do things like suspend an account until the seller provides proof of where they are getting their merchandise from.  It looks like dropshipping in ebay's eyes.  If we use the old rule and say he had 450 transactions this year(double feedback)that means he had more than 20 cancellations.  If that's true,  that's very bad.  Even if all his customers gave him feedback,  that's more than 10 cancellations on 225 orders. Definitely need better sync,  possibly shopify with external sales channels linked.  Oh and if it's a physical store, inventory can be wrong and or there's always shoplifting.  You need to list way more than 200 items to offset those problems.

Seller Performance stats are NOT a secret.  Nor is the fact that Ebay evals all its sellers every month.

Suspending their account would come next if they keep filing cancellations for OOS.  Idk that it looks like dropshipping to Ebay, besides drop shipping is NOT against the rules.  If you properly drop ship you are fine.  But as this seller has explained, they are selling from inventory they have for their B&M store.  So they have it and they ship it, well when it is in stock.

IDK how many cancellation they have filed, the OP hasn't shared that number.  But whatever it was it was more than the Seller Standards allow.

Re: Seller Level (Below Standard) ??? Sales way down !!

If ebay was so concerned with the service provided to buyers, ie: seller rating, they would also limit the amount of listings you are allowed instead of tacking on an additional 6% and allow you to keep selling as normal. Just a way for them to collect more $$....

Old way was just to make the use no longer a registered user:

No chance to correct the mistake.

Would all the folks like to go back to that???

Which is better for the seller.  5-6% fee for substandard performance, or to be shown the door.

The door used to be the route.  Go "below standard" , that was the end of selling.  Now they tack on a fee for making eBay a less desirable site for buyers, and give the seller a chance to improve.

So you think bad behavior should have no consequences?

I think ebay is way too lenient with bad sellers.

That is a sanction that Ebay sometimes imposes.  Depends on the situation.  The sanctions aren't one size fits all since there is a variety of reasons by a seller can be sanction.

No it is not just a way to collect more money.  It is an incentive to help keep sellers functioning within the STATED Seller Performance policy.

Not necessarily.  There are a whole lot of sellers in all kinds of categories that never use Promoted Listings.
