Seller Calendar (pre-holiday 2023)

Upcoming dates for sellers to keep track of:

• Sunday, June 18th - Father's Day
• Monday, June 19th - Juneteenth, post offices closed
• Saturday, July 1st - EISD (eBay International Standard Delivery) formally discontinued (this is already in process) and will be fully replaced by EIS (eBay International Shipping)
• Tuesday, July 4th - Independence Day, post offices closed
• Sunday, July 9th - USPS replaces First Class Package, Retail Ground and Parcel Select with a service called Ground Advantage. Details found in the link in my signature below. Sellers offering free ship for FC should take note that price will increase significantly for that last ounce before you hit a pound.
• Tuesday, July 11th - Wednesday, July 12th (unconfirmed) - Big online sales week across various retailers to coincide with Amazon's Prime Day. No date announced yet, but some are speculating July 11th-12th since that coordinates with last year's schedule. Good time to run sales as people are online shopping.
• End of July - Mid August - Peak selling for Back to School.
• End of August - Mid September - End of Summer sales. Holiday listings start popping up.
• Monday, September 4th - Labor Day, post offices closed
• Tuesday, September 26th - Thursday, September 28th - eBay Open online event, with in-person meetups in a few cities on September 25th.
• Wednesday, October 4th (unconfirmed) - Fall Seller Update. Last year we had a Seller Update the week after eBay Open so this is purely an educated guess on my part. eBay has not released a date as they never notify us of Seller Updates in advance. Fall Seller Update the past few years has traditionally included category updates and promises of site changes to come starting Spring and rolling out throughout the following year.
• Monday, October 9th - Columbus Day, post offices closed

Somehow posted a version that was missing a few dates, so here ya go:

• Thursday, June 15th - Quarterly estimated tax deadline for April 1 - May 31. (Due to recent disasters, some states have extended relief deadlines https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/tax-relief-in-disaster-situations )
• Friday, June 30th - Last day to use 2nd quarter eBay store subscriber shipping supply coupon
• Friday, September 15th - Quarterly estimated tax deadline for June 1 - Aug 31. (Due to recent disasters, some states have extended relief deadlines https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/tax-relief-in-disaster-situations )
• Saturday, September 30th - Last day to use 3rd quarter eBay store subscriber shipping supply coupon

What a great list!  Thank you.

Good news: the current version of Notice 123 proposed for July 9 (draft as of May 26) shows that there will be a weight bracket for 12+ to 15.99 ounces, just as there currently is for First Class packages.  The weight limit of 15 ounces that appeared in the earlier announcements was revised; perhaps it was an error in the first place. Also, the prices shown are the same as the current prices for First Class packages.

I think the price of a stamp might be increasing also to .66...Maybe July 9th....not approved yet.

I lot of us cheap sellers use just a stamp to mail something through eBay.

eBay just posted an announcement of a date change for eBay Open. Online event will take place Wednesday, September 27th - Friday, September 29th. In-person meetups on Tuesday, September 26th.
