Have fun. I just read through it and it sounds like you will be getting lessons and homework. I'm too old to go back to school.
The only time it's too late to learn is if you've already given up. My grandmother took a college algebra class when she was in her late 70's. I wanna be old her way.

But I have aphasia; learning and remembering are difficult skills for me. I think that gives the effort a different sort of value. I'm still gonna try to do this, and I'm gonna make a real effort to keep an open mind.
Hey, nothing wrong with learning! I'm seriously considering going back to school to study agronomy, and I'm 50 something. It's something I've always wanted to do, and I may just do it.
Do it! Live so that you have nothing to regret.

I routinely watch youtube videos
So do I. I'm always catching up on It's Time For A Closer Look.
Seth Meyers was one of my daughter's very good friends in college; they were both Film majors. Seth's roommate dated my daughter's roommate for 3 years. Seth's roommate is the driver of the car in all of the Sonic commercials and he also wrote for Stephen Colbert for years. I'd say that very costly tuition paid off for them ...

When people quit trying to learn - you stagnate.
So true!
I'm always reminded of a joke my dad used to tell about twin princes: one was a pessimist and the other was an optimist. Their dad, the king, couldn't figure out which should rule after him, so he set a test and told them to go find their birthday presents in the barn. The pessimist immediately started crying because all he saw and smelled was a pile of horse droppings and he thought that was all he was ever gonna get. The optimist grabbed a shovel and started digging because he said that with that much horse poop, there had to be a pony in there someplace. Guess who got the keys to the kingdom?
Me, I'd rather be the one with a shovel.

I honestly hope that it does work out and helps new - and old - sellers make money. It would be really nice, too, if it helped some avoid the pitfals of the scammers and just plain bad buyers. Unfortunately, I have this bad feeling that it is going to be promo and getting ready for the 'New ebay' that comes along with Adyen, new payments, as well as the new system and is going to fall far short of the help most hope for and many would like to see.

Why not try it?
It's free
Weekly email
If I know it all- great! It will remind me of what I know.
If there is something new, yeah!
Worst case scenario, I read the email and think yup yup yup I know all that.
So, go for it!

Probably a rah rah session on how to use all the "features" and pay for more added services without any training on the pitfalls. I really hope i am wrong but ........

They revamped Seller Center and added a lot of new content. I think the Boot Camp course is going to cover the content that is in Seller Center and the content from recent blog posts about the current "modern buyer" market. I think it will be geared towards treating selling as a business since that is how eBay wants sellers to behave even if they are hobby selling after a Spring cleaning.
I wonder if the video portions will be all verbal discussion or if there will be any demos. Photography would be a good demo for many sellers and a great opportunity to show some simple tips and techniques for improving photos. I think an actual demo can have more impact than hearing someone talk about best photography practices.
I get tired of seeing so many listings with dark and blurry photos... although the sellers who put so little effort into their photos probably wouldn't sign up for Boot Camp.

Reading along, and seeing that the article for the 'Boot Camp' is written by their 'Verified Blogger' who did the first (I think) article in the "Modern Buyer" series, I would suspect that the program is full of ebay pricing guidance, free shipping, guaranteed delivery, free returns, etc., etc. - everything ebay wants sellers to do to conform to their new idea of the 'New ebay' - sort of like a new tutorial for a new age, and more like something one had best consider doing, rather than being optional.
I'm not sure us dinosaurs are going to get much help from it, however, the new generation(s) of sellers may do quite well by it, as it possibly may well be a part of the 'our way or highway' attitude. I find it interesting that it is a 'Boot Camp', rather than a 'Learning Center'. For some of us, 'boot camp' has a different connotation than for those of 'polite society', for whom it is frequently meant to be as 'an adventure'.

I really don't know ... and that's the point 🙂
In just the past 4.5 years that I have been selling full-time, there have been a ton of changes that I have adapted to and scrambled to update my listings to make them "compliant" ... I'm not even halfway done with the watermarks thing 😞 (I know that they got rid of the March deadline, but that doesn't mean that it went away completely)
If I can get ahead of the curve, for once, on just one thing ... Ill be satisfied LOL.
I am always willing to learn new things ... and I am thoroughly familiar with the process of "Kaizen" from my years of working for a large manufacturing corporation that took the philosophy to heart (even for their non-manufacturing floor departments, including finance)
That process has drummed into me that "it's always been done that way!" is not a reason to keep doing it that way 🙂
So, really ... If I can get anything out of it that helps me be a better seller or improve my market share ... it's a good thing 🙂

This board has been an awesome boot camp for me.

My feelings exactly!
I hope for one other thing from this: that it will help me to re-generate my enthusiasm for selling so that I can improve my game. I've been discouraged and I want to hope for better days. When it comes to something like that, it is willingness to believe in possibility that makes all the difference.
If we choose to see things negatively, we will get nothing; so those who think that this Seller Boot Camp is a joke would never find anything good in it anyway and no one will ever convince them otherwise. I want to see things in a new light, even if what I am told is only old information; that way I will still get something from it through my own effort.
