I have been selling on Ebay for over 20 years. I have some items that are just not selling, but yet I am the lowest price. I do a search for the item and a lot of other stuff pops up creating 2-4 hundred items, but they are not the exact item I searched for and of course mine is down to page 15. If I search for a specific item why do other things come up, getting in the way of people finding the exact item they are looking for. Here's an example. Search for Keranique regrowth hair treatment 4 month supply. There's really only about 5 people selling this, but yet 300 listings come up, shampoos serums all kind of other keranique stuff. How is anyone suppose to find what they are looking for?? Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated.

When I search Keranique regrowth hair treatment 4 month supply by lowest price first, I see 91 results and the first 50 have Keranique regrowth hair treatment or Keranique regrowth hair supply in the title.
I am not sure why you are seeing other results.

I actually called Ebay to ask, we did a simultaneous test of searching for something, I got like 400 they got 12. And couldn't give me any answers either.

This is what I was told on the boards and so far has proven true:
search for Keranique regrowth hair treatment 4 month supply as "Keranique regrowth hair treatment 4 month supply" note the quote marks.
If you do not do the quotes you will get anything with keranique in item specifics, regrowth in item specifics, hair in item specifics etc. The search is not a match only unless the quotes are used. Otherwise you get keranique or regrowth or hair or treatment etc as long as an item specific has one of those words in it.
try it with something simple....you will see the difference....

The search results you are seeing may be irrelevant, even though they are disturbing.
What is the number of visits for your item?
Buyers often do not type what you do and their searches may lead to appropriate numbers of visits. Your conversion rate is the next question.

Because search results are manipulated by eBay and Sellers alike. It's a mess

As an experiment, try the identical search, logged into your seller account and logged out.
See if the results differ.
If Ebay has learned from other sites, who is searching and their search history affects the results.

If i do a search on "Keranique regrowth hair treatment" I get 128 results.
Your is about half way through.
There's nothing wrong with the search.
FYI Sometimes I am the highest priced seller of a certain product on ebay and yet people will buy mine over the others. Having the lowest priced item does not necessarily mean it will sell.
