This afternoon I searched completed listings for a certain brand and style plate. It showed about a dozen in completed listings. I just searched again using the exact same words. All that came up was one plate. What happened to the others?

Listing number will move up and down with almost every search ran. Tons of features broken with no signs of being fixed so it is to be expected..

to sellers - if anyone is trying to list right now and trying to do pricechecks, a workaround to this problem is to do your search, choose any options you want like buy it nows only, lowest price first etc etc, then press advanced and do your search again from there, it seems to show all and keeps your preferences and list order

Yep @this4chris2012, I think "Search" went  kaflooey this afternoon.  I was searching for an Active item that I check every day -- same search/keywords every time.   Earlier in the day there were 11 listings that matched that search.  Checked again, and it said 10 items matched the search terms I indicated, yet ONLY ONE listing showed up on the page.  The other nine?  Just not visible. 

Switched browsers and even logins and tried again.  Same result.  Checked about an hour later, and all 10 items were showing up as they should have done.

The other odd thing that happened when search wasn't working right was all the "ads" and other highlighted listings that usually show up vertically on the right side of the screen would "jump" down so they weren't visible unless you scrolled down the page.   Really strange to see them "move and hop" all on their own when I was doing nothing in terms of using my cursor, up/down keys, etc. but simply staring at the screen.   Who knows...

I'm having the exact same problem with stamps.    I'll get a list of items that match my search and 

I'll look at sold or completed and things disappear.     I'l go back to live listings and there will be

one where there was 20 or 30    there  5 minutes ago.  

No wonder my customers can't find anything.

UPDATE:   Though I thought eBay might be able to fix whatever they broke via the last night's weekly maintenance, search issues seem to be back/are on-going.

Still getting search results saying there were "X" listings found, yet only one of them displays in list formonthe page.  Great news for me as a buyer, because it ups the chances I can swoop in at the last minute with no competition and pick the item up I'm looking at for a song.  Bad news, for me and that seller, since odds are, only a fraction of his and my listings are being shown.

Is this issue one of the "lesser" problems we were assured by Bob Kupbens were being addressed in his recent mea culpa?  Sure seems pretty darned CRITICAL to me when buyers can't see the items sellers have listed on the site for sale.  But heck, what do I know.  I'm an idealist and expect to get what I was promised and paid for.  😞
