Does anyone think there’s any hope of eBay fixing the search algorithm or going back to what we had before April 2018?? Seems like they are way to stubborn to admit they’ve killed the site with it and backtrack.
Like many sellers here, once they rolled out the change last year, my sales have had a very sharp drop off. I am struggling to make the same amount I made in 2017 when I had HALF the amount of listings I have now.
I personally believe buyers are making less purchases because they are not finding what they want in search. They’re being shown **bleep** from big box and China sellers. To get to the good stuff, I often have to scroll through loads of **bleep** listings. It’s exhausting.
The eBay AI thinks it knows that buyers want but they’re wrong! I’m having no problem selling stuff on other sites yet here, I’m struggling.
No to mention blackouts! Every month I can always expect that for a good 1.5-2 weeks, my listings are being blacked out or dropped so low in search that they might as well be hidden. I go from making daily sales to NOTHING overnight. No sales, no offers even coming in. My sales become a ghost town for half the month.
Wh y has eBay started doing this so much more recently? It almost makes one think that they turn you off when you reach a certain amount in sales to spread around the sales to others to keep the ruse going because they are hemorrhaging buyers. Rinse and repeat.
And then buyers abandon eBay because they can no longer find the kind of stuff they used to be able to find. 1% growth is a JOKE. Guarantee most of that game from fees from sellers and very little from buyers.

Best Match is in the eyes of the beholder. What comes up in Best Match, may not really be the Best Match.

Unfortunately that is what ebay management does not seem to get or care. Cassini evidently knows what the customer wants to buy better than they do. I will say sales were far far better before they switched the search engine Its not even close. When I listed a rare unique item it populated to buyers wish list immediately with the old search engine. I remember instances when I listed the item and within minutes it was sold and I am talking oddball collectibles than only a handful give a fart about. Also google was bringing in loads of business to ebay. This catalog plan should be painful to watch implemented I see myself weening off selling mass market new items asap. Not going to spend my whole life repricing daily racing to the bottom. There are enough sellers who will sell at a loss just to get the sale box

And there have been many posts refuting that.

I thought it was just me, but totally seeing this too! I've sold over $1,000,000 in my time on eBay. Now, eBay has slowed to a trickle of my total business, and when researching sold items, I rarely find auctions that have done well. What can be done?! It is time for a new auction site!? Does anyone know the algorithm, so sellers of rare and special items can take the site back? After all it is these sellers who are the heart and soul of the site--at least we were.
Hopefully eBay stops trying to become Amazon--we have enough cheap Chinese **bleep** already!

If you think its the search, you are playing into Ebays hand entirely. Its not the search, its not the returns, its not ugly pictures. What it is is Ebay has ran off sellers, with dumb things like the search, those sellers took buyers away and people just don't want the current brand of Ebay today. Its hard pressed to find anything decent to buy on here anymore. There may be lots of listings but alot of its overseas garbage and what made Ebay unique was the vibrant selection. Thats all but gone

Every time I search for anything, I get the message "we removed some of the search results". EVERY FREAKING TIME, doesn't matter what I search for. Who do you think they are to know what' I'm looking and not looking for??? Of course, every freaking time I had to click on the message to see all search results - extra clicks again, more eBay trouble again. Who would want to do it again and again??? So ridiculous, no wonder the site is half-dead with scammers rampant...

@allstar-comics wrote:More items listed divided by same number of sales equals the new Ebay My sales sell through has been steadily declining with each batch of ebay changes. Sadly I feel it might hit a new level of bad this coming year. Does anyone get the same results on search ? I can look with key words and get a set of matches and an hour later with the same key words get completely different amount of matches
I'm sorry your sales have been declining and I hope that changes for you soon.

We noticed a immediate decline in views in 2013. It was may 31 2013, by the very next day June 1 2013, Poof like magic... we were gone. Perfect seller. Never even had a return or a neg. Ok my tinfoil hat says to me, that cassini finds every small seller sooner or later. I'm surprised many of you have held on this long.. and are just noticing it. You've been lucky. But the reason I'm posting. Is ONE of my items just got 244 hits!!!! and the rest are sitting there with pathetic views. Wonky stuff. 244 views in a few hours. yea right. LOLOLOL
