Welcome to the Scrounge Lounge October 2018 Edition
Harvestig Sales still seems fitting. As the leaves change to autumn colors may the widgets turn green!
Our History: The Scrounge Lounge formed on the old Auction Listings board in 2003.
Who are we? Ebay buyers and sellers who love the thrill of the hunt.
We find treasures in the usual, and at times, unusual places.
Here in the Lounge we share our finds, talk about sales, share our successes and our mistakes, we ask and answer questions, help identify widgets, and we'd love to hear about all your scrounging adventures!

Kay, I have been thinking about what you said about your DH and the obsolescence of skills or later ones becoming more tech oriented. I've noticed at some of the technical colleges around here, they offer courses to update skills in plumbing, electrical, mechanics, etc. Do you have something like that in your area? Sort of like continuing education. When my DH changed course, same area but a different perspective, he took some courses to update his knowledge in various areas. Even today, he would need to update his skill set again.
I think about a couple of pilots in the family. One started out flying F130s then transitioned to Air Jordan jets then to Boeing 735s then to Copa Air jets then back to teaching Boeing 735 simulators. Another started out on single man jets then to F16s then to F22s. Each of these transitions necessitated an upgrade in knowledge.
In looking around here, all the ads show a required knowledge of computer testing / diagnostics.
Just a thought...
M*M, thanks for the Y update and it is great you are going to get your washer backer next week. DH would be lost if he couldn't do his little loads of wash frequently.
DD and Miss Elsie came to pick up some house plants and go to lunch today. Miss Elsie has really grown and is quite adept at conversations about T-ball, baseball and is going to play basketball this winter.
Kay, the storm you are getting is the tail end of Willa, the hurricane that came in thru western Mexico. It came thru here Thursday and Friday.

Kay, hi. That came from board messages, so, here, since I only post here.
Paypal is good for looking out for one, it could be because you just started selling again and the amount.
Those cartridges are a little gold mine aren't they! NIce!
Depends on what you have, regarding the pennies. Look for S mints, you'll need a loupe, very hard to see the mint mark, some D's look like S's with my eyes. D is good though, also condition. Unreadable dates are worthless, so are dinged rims. A better than good penny you'll be able to see all the lines on the wheat leaves on the reverse side.
Good luck on the silver coins. Like I said the other day, the off ebay companies ebay so graciously advertises for were selling for 50 cents what I had 9.99 on lol.. Good Grief. I just went by the price Steve had on them, from about 10 years ago and added a couple bucks. At that price, melt would be more profitable. Whatever I can't sell I'm taking to the coin shop in town and see what he will offer, including some mint sets, quarter sets, can't sell those either.
WELL. One more day for the washer! Needed another part the regular guy didn't see! And the booking service wrote down the wrong time so by 12:45 I called to see if they were nearby, he was, so I put a note on the door and ran to the PO quick and he was here when I got back. Some wheel part the belt rides on was totally worn out. One More Day. omg I think I can!
Good call on the car. That's quite a difference. Some ppl have more money than brains tho. (sorry but true!)
