It's hard to believe ebay has the legal right to steal money from my paypal account to refund a scammer who blatantly lied and is an obvious thief.  I upheld my end of the sale by selling exactly what was descibed and shown in my listing. Ebay - you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing such an obvious abuse of the returns option.

If it's legal then they're not stealing.

Sorry this happened to you but we all go through the same thing.  That's what we signed up for.

Welcome to the life of an eBay seller. At some point this will usually happen to anyone who sells on eBay. It is common knowledge that eBay is an ideal environment in which to scam sellers out of money and merchandise. You can even Google the internet and find multiple ways to do it. As far as eBay is concerned frankly they just don't give a **bleep** they have their money from their fees.

Number one rule for eBay sellers is never list anything you cannot afford to take a loss on.

Since you agreed they could when you signed up to sell, it's not stealing.

Have a great day.

The way to do it is not sell to high value stuff sell lower value stuff so the sting of loss of money and item does not hurt so much. Its been like this for years, ebay always sides with the buyer, us sellers just have to accept it if we want to sell here.

What a bunch of miserable comforters. They sound like CS reps trumpeting  canned responses. You should hope that you get the item back. The buyer keeping the item after getting a refund is OK with eBay also. What a great place to sell online.

eBay pays membership fees to the BBB.

Why would the BBB punish someone that's giving them money, @whiteyswrecking?

Why is that hard to believe? You agreed to allow them do it to you.

There is a risk of fraud with every transaction on eBay. Any buyer can steal any item from any seller at any time by filing a fraudulent dispute.

And now that you are aware that you allowed them to do it to you, you have the choice to stay and accept the risk, or stop using the site.

What returns policy, your listings state "Seller does not accept returns"

Since this is obviously not the first time this has happened to you I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the Money Back Guarantee because no matter how upset you get and no matter how right you may feel, it will not change anything... That is the choice every seller must face, learn the ebay way or keep struggling.

BBB is a TOTAL waste of time and accomplishes nothing..  The way to alert potential sellers (suckers) is thru social media. Get the word out and make sure that they read, read, read e-bay's contract before signing on.  It is truly a license to steal!

That is,  by far,  the best advise you have offered the sellers on this site......"Stop using the site".,  It is a waste of their time, energy and money.

One of the the great things, among many,  about this country is that there's no law that forces anyone to sell on eBay.

I ike the posters who have stopped selling but come back to the boards to tell everyone they are not doing it right.
