Scams from Jamaica New York?

The buyer wants me to ship my drone to this address:

Here is the delivering address.

NAME: GTN AKANBI OGUNLEKE
175-57 148TH ROAD
JAMAICA
11434
NEW YORK
USA

Supposedly to his son? I have not yet received any confirmation from PayPal only an email from EBay and it contains a mailing address in Nigeria?   Scam?

Thanks

Re: Scams from Jamaica New York?

Is that the address on the paypal account.

If not, that is easy.  Tell him "no."

If it were me I would immediately cancel using problem with address, and then block him.

Re: Scams from Jamaica New York?

How do I know what is on this persons PayPal account? He hasn’t given me his PayPal email even though I did ask for it?

Re: Scams from Jamaica New York?

So “JohnTran” just sent me his PayPal email:

log.a.n.k.am.si.9.9@gmail.com

How do I check this? Thanks

Re: Scams from Jamaica New York?

He is asking you to send this to his son.

This leads me to believe that this is not the name and address on the paypal account.  If it were, why would there be a need to email you.

Never, never, never send anything anywhere other than the address on the paypal account.  Doing so, would forfeit the limited seller protection you have.

Also, imo, for high scam items like drones, you might want to block all sellers from outside the US.

Re: Scams from Jamaica New York?

You don't need his PayPal email. You go into your PayPal account. Where it shows his payment (if it is even there) it will show his address. Under his address it will say if it's okay to ship to that address.  Don't accept an email from PayPal as if he is a scammer he can send you a fake email. This is your how you verify. Even if it's marked on EBay as paid it could be wrong.

Re: Scams from Jamaica New York?

The address belongs to R & A International Logistics, Inc. They are a freight forwarder. The address may or may not be legitimate for the "son" but it's irrelevant, as others have said, if it's not the address that paypal has on file for that buyer, and you would lose any not received claim.

Of course, the buyer can simply add that address to their paypal account and then repay using that address, and it would all be good, but I get the feeling here that the buyer would not do that, but you could ask them that and then gauge their sincerity by their response.

What is Proof of Shipment?

"The recipient’s address, showing at least the city and state, or city and country, or zip/postal code (or international equivalent). The address information on your shipping receipt must match the address on the Transaction Details page."

This is a common scam, although I am not saying it is here, but often seasoned scamming buyers switch the address on unsuspecting sellers and then claim they never received it and the seller has no proof it was delivered to their address on file, because it wasn't. It is often pulled on new sellers with 0 feedback like you, selling high-priced items.

Also, if you ever get an email saying that you have been paid and OK to ship, never click on any links and, ALWAYS check your paypal account first to see officially; There are a lot of spoofed paypal emails doing this.
