Re: Scamming

Well it doesn't appear to be on this account, unless it was a purchase.

But yeah you need to provide us with a lot more details (but please do not include any personal information or names) before we can help.

Re: Scamming

Wondering how you also lost the money in your bank account.

Did you send cash too, in addition to shipping out your apple stuff?

Re: Scamming

Watch out this "buyer", they just made an offer to "buy it now ASAP" on my products (Apple laptops) I'm selling from my other account. They try to sell their story about "being scammed" and offer a 50% of FMV to buy item ASAP.

Re: Scamming

the OP doesn't seems to be really honest with their "requests", screen shot from one of my selling accounts I received from them.MaxthonSnap20180422013253.jpg

Re: Scamming

I would ignore them and block them. It's somone hoping you'll fall for the sob story and sell them someting way under the actual price. Don't do it.

Re: Scamming

Every "buyer" requiring something ASAP has to go to a block list ASAP )) and their bids will be canceled.

Re: Scamming

From what I have read here I kind of agree with you about buyers wanting something faster than what is in your listing.

E checks come to mind.  Also it takes ebay a day or so to catch up with scammers and you getting the email not to send to them.

I see that email a lot about it being for some kid's birthday and you want to get it there in time.

That is why I have increased my handling time a bit.  I give it a couple of days to see if something nefarious pops up.

My only experience with someone wanting it fast, was an auction, he wanted me to end it and sell for a fixed price because he needed the coins fast. I told him he lives in Australia, I don't post anything until next Tuesday, so what does it matter if the auction runs? I knew he just wanted to be the winner though and it was a $25 item (when it ended).

I'm wondering if the reason I have a lot less trouble is the 10 days (two weeks) handling time, the disclaimer in my listing to note there is extra handling time, and eBay telling buyers their items will arrive in 17-36 days. Not exactly what a scammer wants to hear.

However despite all this slow movement of mail (handling is to get items to New York, I pack within 2 days), it hasn't really affected my sales. And occasionally someone messages to ask me if the estimate is accurate for shipping time (and could they pay to upgrade their shipping). Once explained, all seems to be OK for shipping time.

Cheers, C.
