What do you do when someone wants a refund for something they say was busted You know you packed it WELL  , they say they threw it out no pictures to prove it actually broke  if people get away with that why would anyone take the chance to continue selling on eBay?

Now not only that but the scammer leaves a negative comment   how do they get away with that

I absolutely agree with you! I meant to say experienced Ebayer .... but i did want to warn people of a scam. I since took your advice sure enough its not the first time they have done something like this. Also I wanted to protect myself, honestly if i was buying something and someone had a comment that they wouldnt refund I wouldnt think twice and i would buy somewhere else im not perfect I want 100% pleased customers Im trying to do ebay to earn money.
from the very begaining I did ask for a picture of the broken piece, to no avail. My post office said they will do nothing without some kind of proof. pic or item.
It took a while to reach ebay but now they are taking care of it i was getting 15 messages from this buyer a day hard to ignore. Still i should have.
IM TRYING TO REMOVE MY RESPONSE ON FB
im from the old days I rather talk on the phone im not best on computer.

It may well be that you do nothing, see if buyer files a case.

Up until they file a case, you have no obligation to respond at all.

Unless you understand that something really went wrong, it is not indicated to refund in this kind of case without a return.  Detailing a problem might get buyer sympathy, but expressing demands and lack of cooperation isn't motivating at all.

Next time, post here before leaving a reply to negative feedback. Your reply is almost worse than your buyer's feedback comment, frankly. I could've overlooked that person's remark, but your response would make me reconsider making a purchase from you.

They get away with it because they have an item shattered into a million pieces.

If the buyer had not opened a return request, you tell them return the item for a full refund.  If they have opened a return request, you tell them to return the item for a full refund AND you authorize the return label. It's then on the buyer to do their part of the transaction, return the item.  If they don't, no refund.  If they return the item and it's broken you refund.  If they return a different item or empty box then you can withhold 50% of the refund and report the buyer for abusing the MBG, file a USPS mail fraud report and file police reports in your local PD and the buyers PD.

Your only reply to the bad feedback should be: "Full refund offered  if item was returned" and leave it at that.

Your comment on the FB wasn't a good idea.  Name calling of your customers is just bad business and will not look good to potential customers.  I understand and respect why you feel that was as I would most certainly feel the exact same way, but we must publicly post things on the FB pages that are always professional.

If I were in your position the first thing I would do is respond to the buyer.  Something like this.

I am very sorry you experience a problem with the item you purchased from me.  Please feel free to return the item for a refund.  Once I receive the item I will issue you a full refund.

Leave it at that with your buyer.  Certainly they will respond something like you idiot I told you I threw it away and can't return it or some nonsense like that.  Just ignore it and if you feel the need to respond again, just say exactly the same thing.  Return for refund.

Next I would be contacting Ebay CS to get the FB removed.  You need to get that one off your account, more for your comment than for what the buyer said, but the buyer is wrong here and Ebay should be willing to remove the FB.

Also check the buyer's FB page for FB left for others.  Look to see if they have done this to other sellers.  If so, make sure that when you request the removal of this FB for breach of policy and attempts to defraud you, you will also want to inform them that they have done it to others as is evidenced by their FB for others.

Also make sure when you ask for the FB to be removed that Ebay review the emails between the two of you so they can see that the buyer wasn't willing to return the item.

Try this link for getting your FB removed.  If for any reason they don't removed the FB, come back here and tell us what they said and we will try to help you from there.

I've been on eBay since 1999 as a casual buyer and seller with around 500 good reviews. However, eBay is no longer useful because out of my last several sales I've been scammed at least 2-3 times. I now have a buyer claiming he never received a product despite USPS showing it was delivered. When you run the address in Miami it shows up on Yelp with warnings from other eBay sellers not to ship to that address because it's a scam. Trying to get any protection as a seller from eBay is now nearly impossible. They must be so desperate for buyers that they will put up with fraud. It's really a shame. It was a good platform for many years.
