Has anyone else noticed how many scammers are trying to buy your products? I’ve had three in one week they open up that day they have zero feedback is it OK to put that you won’t sell to anybody without feedback and that it they have had their accounts for length of time? I just had someone take a bid and take a really good expensive article off of my buyers list and didn’t pay for it and it turns out that she hadn’t been buying anything for nine years so obviously that’s a scam also so what do you do? Ebay said they give them a warning when they do that don’t pay three times and then they close them down at five times. I asked them why there wasn’t a place when they bid for one of your items that shows on their page that they have been people that did not pay so that the seller knows what they’re dealing with! Ebay said they wouldn’t do that and then I told them that was a disservice to the sellers.

Since you mention "grammer" (grammar) and threw (through), just wanted to point out that poor grammar and simply spelling errors do not always indicate a scammer.

I am disabled and have to talk into this I cannot type. It does not always type correctly! I had no idea how rude sellers from EBay can be. Thanks for letting me see what’s out there.

That’s what they said. Your right I am going to take your suggestion and read It had been years because of an accident for me to be a seller. I had my caretaker help me buy a few things here and there. Years ago EBay was very different.
I posted on here to find out about people trying to get your personal info and EBay said they were trying to scam sellers and to just block them. However I wanted the opinion of EBay buyers and there experience. I am shocked that people are rude on here when everyone is a seller. Thank you for your advice. I will certainly take it.
Happy New Year

I did want to tell you the scamming I was talking about had nothing to do with grammar or spelling errors. It was someone making you an offer and then asking for your personal email and phone number.

Years ago I was a top seller then I had a bad accident and I didn’t sell for several years because I’m very disabled now but things have changed so much from then. Just learning all over again. Thanks for the info.Happy New Year.

@stepande-102 wrote:@ddeb6884 so you started out with 51 feedback? How'd you manage that? Or are you being a hypocrite?
@ddeb6884 wrote:That’s being very rude and of course I’m not a hypocrite. I got that feedback from what I’ve sold . You don’t have anything to contribute to the subject then don’t bother. What are you one of the scammers?
I think the poster's point is that your only selling feedback (and it's not all of the 51 score) are within the last 6 months. Most of your 51 feedbacks, 30 to be exact, are as a buyer from years ago.
Although you claim to have been top rated years ago, the feedbacks on this ID don't indicate a history. (Not much on ebay has changed within the last 6 months.)

Thanks for the advice. 😊. You are absolutely correct.

It had been over 6 years plus since I had an accident that left me disabled. You missed the post where I said I had my caretaker help me buy a few things. I was a top seller years ago 11 to be exact and I don’t know where the info is.. I started selling about 3 to 4 months ago because I enjoyed it. I am so surprised at all the pettiness here. Last time I ever ask a question.

Just because someone points out inconsistencies doesn't mean they're rude, petty or otherwise unhelpful.
You've got people from multiple cultures, multiple countries, multiple continents and every one of them has a different personality and posting style. Some are apt to coddle you and tell you exactly what you want to hear and others are blunt, to the point and don't mince words. Some will give good helpful advice and others post misinformation.
You need to have a thicker skin and learn how to weed through to find the good advice even when you don't like how it's dispensed.

The easy way to end these scams is to stop using auctions.
EBay defaults newbies into Auction selling because that is their brand, but experienced sellers do not use them. Auctions are a vestige of the 20th century internet when buying online was new and scary. Today we buy our toilet paper directly from China online.
Over 85% of all transactions are Fixed Price.
You know what you want to get for your items, so use that as your asking price.
You have two further options.
Personally I would recommend FP/IPR.
You get your price and don't have to bother with deadbeats.
Ebay said they give them a warning when they do that don’t pay three times and then they close them down at five times.
Whoever told you that (a phone rep? they are subcontractors and do not work for eBay) was guessing. EBay does have standards but they sensibly do not reveal them.

I ask a simple question because it’s the first time I have dealt with it and instead of just addressing it several chose to attack me. It is ridiculous. So it’s not being thin skinned it is being stunned that women can be so petty and nosy. I can appreciate what you said however it would never enter my mind to give someone a hard time about anything if they are asking a question for help. I won’t participate in this nasty forum again. Even though I am paralyzed I wouldn’t waste any time on something like this and believe me I have nothing but time. I thought I had a lot of time on my hands and obviously some really have too much time on their hands.
I appreciate your advice but I don’t excuse bad behavior. I am far too old.
Have a nice New Year.
