Scam? Account Name and Shipping Name don't match - shipping to freight company

The account name is a very female American name and the shipping name is a foreign first and last name, and the shipping address is to a freight location. My hesitation is that it's a several hundred dollar item and they are extremely pushy for shipping it ASAP (sent several messages about shipping same day as purchasing on Sunday)  AND that they only have 4 feedback all within the last 6 months but their account was opened 2019....It seems suspicious to me.

I don't  like pushy. Your listing is Priority Mail 4-5 to 8-9  days shipping. To me one state over  is 4-8 days. The west coast is 5-9 days delivery.

I would reply shipping has been schedulled. Your item is scheduled to arrive on time.  Don't let the buyer dictate you must ship ASAP . Let him know you'll be shipping it within your handling time, if he is not satisfied with that you'll be happy to cancel and refund.

Is this a Lego set?

Where does it say your Buyer is registered?  What country?

We have been scammed out of several high dollar Lego sets to orders thru Freight Forwarders.

Which Freight Forwarder and what is end destination Country?

Yes, it was a LEGO set!

Their account says US, phone number is Iowa, but the freight forwarder is Portland, Oregon.

How have you been scammed by orders through Freight Forwarders? I read a couple of horror stories last night and how eBay would side with the buyer even when the seller says they didn't get their same item back and it was an absolute nightmare through Freight Forwarders and then others that say that they are super happy shipping to FF.

I lost 2 to Oregon that were ultimately going to Russian Federation.

And they are getting smarter - I posted a thread a short time ago about them lying to show they are US based, but they are not.  Has to be use of a VPN to make it look that way as registered here or hi-jacked accounts.

As soon as the parcels showed delivered to Oregon, they filed chargebacks for unrecognized transactions.

Both were high dollar lego sets.  Which did not use to be scam magnets are now are.

ETA: Had signature confirmation on both orders.  Made no difference as chargebacks were the types of claims filed)

Many less-expensive items I will send thru a freight forwarder, but I would be just as suspicious as you in this case. Particularly with a pushy buyer and a ff in the middle ready to throw a monkey wrench into the works with a probable delay that is unacceptable to your pushy buyer, this sale is a perfect candidate for a big hassle on your part.

As stated before on this forum many times, Never, Ever  sell and ship a high-value item here on eBay, either domestically or ESPECIALLY internationally, that your business model is not prepared to lose, along with your money on a possible forced refund by eBay or a cc chargeback. It's better to use a venue like Craigslist for bypassing shipping and payment risks, by having the buyer see the item in person and using cash. You don't want to lose control over your high-value items.

Cheers, Duffy

Possible hijacked account.

The account being in one name and the address in another is nothing special. I often get payments with a male buyer and a female payer- I just assume they are a couple sharing one Paypal account.

Freight forwarders are the second safest addresses to ship to. Not only are they actually open when your shipper arrives, but your responsibility for delivery ends at their doorstep.

Further most of the Money Bck Guarantee does not apply to forwarded shipments.

and they are extremely pushy for shipping it ASAP

This is a concern.

Not only will it take a few days to arrive at the reshipper, but they will often be accumulating several shipments before sending the lot on to their client.

4 feedback all within the last 6 months but their account was opened 2019....

Also a concern.

This could be an abandoned account which has been hijacked.

You are allowed to cancel sales for Problem with Address with little fuss.

The buyer can leave feedback, but if she is a scammer, she won't.

Any payment will be automatically refunded on cancellation.

Further to the feedback-- was there any before a few months ago and were the purchases anything related to your product.

This situation with foreign Buyers using Freight Forwarding companies can be a little tricky @ckshopology .  We have sold to a number of them on both costs, and yes via FF companies in Oregon.  And yes, items as high as $ 100 to $ 300 ...

Thus far we have not had any issues with Buyers ultimately located in Taiwan, Russia, China, Japan, other Asian and European countries, etc.   But we also have NOT had any Buyers push us to ship ASAP but we did have one requesting secure packaging BECAUSE it would eventually be going from the US to their country.

Having issues with foreign Buyers using FF companies may be more related to the item being sold then anything else.  I do not recall you advising what you sold ... if you posted that I missed it, sorry.

Do you know where your blocked bidder list is?  This is way too pushy and very suspicious.
