Sales

hi this is my first visit to the boards. I am concerned about sales. My sales were slow but consistant up until mid feb and they flatlined. I know i am not the only one several of my friends are having the same result. Does anyone have an idea. I talked to another friend yexterday selling the same type items and he is still selling. I did down size my store to save money but only by about 100 items . any help appreciated.

LOTS of 'factors' = 1) Pandemic: lots of people w/ cut hours or no job & fear of losing Unemployment support = 2) Big Tax Bills: People who rec'd UI are seeing not enough was with-held & they OWE = 3) House sales for the lucky ones are resulting in bidding wars, extra cash, BUT, too many are RENTERS, behind on Rent, may get evicted = 4) Storms: that crippled Texas & surrounds. No reason to buy stuff if your home is ruined & you need to deal w/ that, first = 5) Stock Market: Every dollar in the market (low interest rates, low tax rates), is a dollar NOT circulating in the Economy. Give a low income person a dollar, they spend. Give a millionaire a dollar, they invest. = 6) Income/Wealth Inequality is worst it's been in a long time. A CEO getting 300 million isn't spending much, and, mostly not on your/our 'stuff'. 6 million people making 50 thousand WOULD fuel the economy. As long as the wealth is shoveled, held, kept at the top, the rest of the population is grabbing at the crumbs. = 7) Shipping & Fees: Rates getting ridiculous, added to total cost, making LOCAL Thrifts, Sales, a more affordable option for the 'not wealthy' group. I could go on, but, you get the drift... A 'Perfect Storm'...

February has traditionally been a slow month in retail.  Too late to buy winter good and too early to buy spring/summer goods.  And it is time for people to budget taxes, federal income as well as property taxes in many states.  Even the restaurant where my spouse works has slowed significantly this month.

Seriously? I think there are way more people in the world that have lots of money that you give them credit for.

My sales have been slow for the past year.  I downsized my store to basic in January since I couldn't afford the higher store price with little to no sales, so my listing who from 800 to just over 400.  I have sold nothing this past week!  I have tried sales, lowing prices, changing wording in titles, nothing is working!  Is it all the pandemic and economy or is it people just don't shop Ebay anymore?  I think Amazon has driven people away and with all the new **bleep** Ebay is doing with the stupid managed payments, I'm ready to just close up!
