I just wanted to show some sellers who come here thinking it is not normal to have sudden sales drops or spikes that it IS in fact normal.
Monday I had a 0 sales day. "Like somebody turned off a switch."
I didn't come to the boards crying about it.
I didn't contact ebay demanding an explanation.
Two days later on Wednesday I had a record sales day.

My issue isn't a drop in sales.
It's a drop in sales of certain items.
For an extended period of time.
During which more expensive and worse quality like items have sold.

March is my 2nd slowest month, August is the slowest. Sales in April go between 25% and 100% up. I use this time for taxes and cleaning out stuff for the summer. It's nice to take a break and get other things done.

My sales have been off more than on over the last four or five months.
Last month was almost back to normal, but then this month it's back to days at a time with no sales.
I know there are good days and off days, but lately, it's been more off days.
I've never called eBay and complained about it though. I figure it's just the nature of the beast 🙂

I have had a similar roller coaster ride for the past month.
But I have noticed another piece of evidence. During my sales lulls, my number of watchers increased. When my sales returned the number of watchers dropped.
Suggestive that for whatever reason the buyers were not willing to pull the trigger immediately.

Same with me. There's a sudden burst of sales and then nothing for days. Then a bit here and there.
My feeling is that eBay is have in a shortage of sales and trying to spread the business around to all the sellers so that they keep us in the game. It would not surprise me that they are hurting a bit with all of this competition of similar companies out here now. They are getting hit from all sides.

I won't post ours to not seem like we're showing off, but even we have really low days (I don't recall a zero sales day in a long time, but with lots of items posted it's less likely, but even then I think it's happened int he past year). For anyone with a relatively small number of listings, that's going to be common. I only have maybe 2 dozen items listed on my personal selling account and I can go months without selling anything.
