@nowthatsjustduckywrote:Is it really that difficult to link buyer accounts, considering the PayPal account used would likely be the same?
No. eBay just doesn't do it. Nothing for eBay to micromanage, so why bother.

3 accounts here ... No, Yes, Yes
As you get sales on your 2 new accounts, keep track of whether or not your sales on your first account drop by roughly the amount you gained on the other two accounts. I noticed this on mine. They are all linked together by eBay.
I like that one. A new twist. Very funny.

Not here. I can barely keep up, sales in both stores doing well.

I blame the recent shipping price increase, which has probably led to a lot of sellers also raising their prices to compensate. In return, ebay has become less appealing to the buyer, who is now going elsewhere to make purchases.
If ebay lowered FVFs, worked something out with the USPS so sellers can actually save a nice chunk of change when they print a label through paypal, everyone would win.
Ebay's mindset is more is more, when it should be less is more.
They're slowly destroying their own platform.
Shipping costs have gone up across the board for every venue - not just Ebay. I use other sites and the FVFs are often more than 10%. Now there are a couple that are lower but guess what - they also don't provide many sales to it's sellers - the items just sit.
You can't blame Ebay for all the problems without researching to see if these other venues are actually better or worse.

I thought February 2018 was going to be my worst month in my past 17 years of selling.
My sales for the month totaled 6 items, made 2/8, 2/25, 2/28 (4 items).
March is looking better. So far, 6 items sold!

Honestly, my sales are better than they have EVER been. But I also just went through a 4 month low slump, so maybe they felt bad for me lol

The accounts are three separate Sellers ... the only thing in common is the street address.

@kathieskornerwrote:I swear there is a regional on/off switch that some toddler at ebay HQ flips up and down constantly.
I have an account on which I sell primarily sports and military collectibles - over the past 8 years or so over 80% of my sales occur on Saturday or Sunday. I don't believe anyone at ebay HQ has anything to do with that. I suspect that is when the buyer base for those type of items is shopping - most of the buyers are of the male persuasion.
It has always been a rare occurrence for me to get multiple purchases from any one state on any one day - the conspiracy theory about regional visibility and sales has been around for years with no real proof that it is anything but coincidence. I no longer sell internationally so I have no clue about the visibility of items listed on ebay usa to buyers on ebay au, but I doubt it is either for items sold by Australian sellers in any great quantity or that it is 24/7.
My total sales have been a bit lighter in 2018 than for the same time frame of 2017, but I am transitioning from two accounts with basic stores to four accounts with no store over the first three months of 2018 - which means doing a major overhaul and cutting my total listings by 50-60%. And I'll be adding more fresh listings and fewer relists once the transition is complete. I am optimistic that sales will return to previous levels with more new listings and fewer relists.
I've had multiple days in a row of 80% sales from one region or even one STATE, and then rinse and repeat, for another region or state. Keep calling it a conspiracy theory tho. I've been selling on ebay since 1999. I've seen it all. I've seen ebay drop sales, consistently, after a higher than normal day. I've seen my sales stay at the same monthly sales point, even if I cut my listings in half, or double my listings. Multiple people have reported on that one. ANd there was an excellent case of that from the power seller awhile back, that doubled his inventory, hired new staff, and then went out of business, because his sales went up just a few percent. I've had more than enough years at this, to notice patterns. Now I'm sure, you anti conspiracy nuts will just blame us loley sellers. Never ebay. Never ebay...

Here, yes very slow.
On other platforms, steady growth that we have experienced year over year.
It's not an Internet thing, it's an eBay thing.

sales are beyond horrible since the beginning of this year. they did pick up for me a little bit for a brief period in february (during chinese holiday.... go figure....). now that the chinese are back from their holiday, my sales have dropped again to next to nothing.

You do realize that a very, very small minority of ebay sellers actually post on this board - and those that are doing well probably don't have the time or the inclination to micro-manage their sales data. This has been primarily a complaint and conspiracy theory board for at least 10 of the 18 years I've been selling on ebay. In the early days it was much more of a help board.
Ebay has shot itself in the foot on numerous occasions over the years and has lost some of its uniqueness and identity in the process, but many, many sellers are still able to make it work for them. And for those that can't - it is just as likely to be unreasonable expectations or blindspots when it comes to their own business or the ever changing competitive environment as anything ebay is doing.
I don't know why any smart business person - powerseller or not - would double their inventory and hire new staff for selling on ebay or any other controlled online site in today's competitive ecommerce environment. If I want to gamble I go to a casino, and never risk more than I can afford to lose.

gamble? He was a very big seller with a very big ebay foot print and his sales were doing great, which justified the investment of inventory, and staff to do the inventory. SURE, blame the seller, for ebay throttling his sales and limitting his velocity. That makes perfect sense. He had no reason to believe that in any normal business enviroment, buying very well selling inventory, would mean that his sales will remain at almost the exact same point as before he bought the inventory. Stay on that ebay band wagon tho. To call selling on ebay, like going to a casino. Wow. Why even bother selling on here, if that's how you feel?

Yes, sales are down again. Seems like every time E-bay makes some kind of change, everything drops. Sales stop, views greatly reduced and many of their pages don't even work. Had 3 months of good sales, then they annouce spring changes and everything stops all at once. They are definitely controlling what buyers see! Just some kids playing games. The service we pay for is not really worth the money, but yet they keep wanting us to update so they can make more while we make less!
