1) I expect the billboard banner and logo to migrate from the billboard store version to the newer store. I don't anticipate a huge change in appearance between the two store formats, except that the new version will be mobile friendly where the older is not. The billboard banner is just a graphic that is hosted on eBay, so they can fit that into their new design without difficulty if they plan to keep the banners (and I think they will). Your store will definitely be in the early conversion group.
2) The downgraded store should not reflect a change in appearance. It will only reflect a change in benefits. eBay might later bring on some features that are only accessible to premier stores, but I don't know if anything like that is in their game plan. I have not seen it discussed anywhere. As it is, I don't think eBay has even designed the modules that are supposed to appear at the end of summer when the more complex stores will be expected to start conversion. When those later modules do appear, the stores that converted early will also have access to those features, so I don't think those early Fall modules will be based on subscription levels. I think those early modules will be things like turning on store promos or displaying a gallery of new releases, something along those lines.
3) Stores are not https compliant today because of the number of custom stores that can not be made so without seriously breaking them. Rather than force sellers with custom storefronts to rework their storefronts, only to ask that they rework them again within the year, eBay decided to let the stores go until we get the new store format. The new store format will be both mobile friendly and https compliant. Those sellers with complex storefronts will then have all of next Fall, and perhaps a little more time after the holiday selling season, to completely overhaul their stores to the new format. Presumably, the new modules coming out next Fall will help those store owners decide how to move forward.

Thanks again. So, I don't need to do anything right now to make it all work, right? There were instructions on the roll out notice on how to make your store compliant and like, do it right now, but was nervous about doing anything considering the banner (not knowing if was considered "custom" or whatever). Since I don't know really what I am doing lolol. Now I can just sit here and let ebay take over the conversion I assume? And I already insert the meta tag? re: mobile on every listing since the mobile unfriendly fixer still doesn't work. lol.
P.S. Is there someplace where a store owner knows what their store is called, i.e. old legacy, billboard, custom, ultra custom lol? I have not a clue. But I want my "banner" considering I have bookmarks printed out and that little block with AbFab, etc.

To see what eBay uses for your keywords on your store page:
1) Go to your store at http://stores.ebay.com/moiartjewelry
2) View the source HTML of that page. To view the source in Firefox, right-click and select "View page source".
3) Search for "keywords" on that source code page (in Firefox, use Edit>Find in the browser menu or use Ctrl-F). The "keywords" meta tag is near the beginning of the file. This is yours today:
<meta name="keywords" content="Moi Art Jewelry">
You can look at other "<meta" tags in the source code to see which of your other store texts are used by eBay, and that might help you determine the best way to write those words.

Those older pages were written many years ago. I am not sure how eBay uses secondary keywords today. As we can see, only the primary keywords appear in their store meta tag. So, I'm afraid I have no answer to that question.

Interesting! I’ve never touched any store keywords since I just am confused about them although I have read what I could about it on the boards. Is there a way to check the source HTML if you don’t use Firefox? I only have Chrome on my pc.
Thanks!

From this page: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/157179
To view the source of a web page using Google Chrome on a PC, hold down the Ctrl-key and press U on the keyboard. Ctrl+U
Chrome on a Mac uses these keys together: ⌘ + Option + u

Thank you shipscript! You are always so helpful and good about replying to all the boardies questions! Especially mine, when I should have known to look on the Internet for the answer!

It's all out there if you know where to look and what to look for , but not everyone knows exactly "what" they are searching for, so if I can easily find the answer, I don't mind doing so (as long as my internet connection is not having a bad hair day). Some topics, though, are so new to me that I can spend an hour or two doing the research and trying to understand well enough to explain. I don't want people to think I actually "know" all this stuff, LOL.

Hi @uniques_byaa, I want to clear up some confusion about keywords. This feature allows you to create a word cloud for your store categories to be used by third party search engines. One thing to note is that repeated terms such as Mens Onyx Ring, Aqueeq Ring and Mens Turquoise Rings would actually be marked as spam by most third party search engines and this would be negatively impacted. You would want to change these to Onyx, Aqueeq and Turquoise.
These fields are not used to describe specific items, but instead to describe attributes of items in your category. The system will catch plurals, so you should only have one keyword field for Ring and one for Men. This will cast out a net for you through search engines to draw buyers into your store.
Other tips to keep in mind are to not use ALL CAPS or symbols/emojis as these can be considered spam as well. Each keyword line has room for up to 60 characters so use as much as you can without repeating. You do not have to use all of the space provided, but the more applicable keywords you can provide the better.
Lastly, your store name and category name are included by default and should not be changed.
Many of these suggestions also apply to the format of titles for listings - words like EXCLUSIVE or EXPEDITED are considered spam and negatively impact your appearance in search results. Additionally, while Handmade is an acceptable descriptor, it may not be commonly used by your buyers to search for items. Think about how your customer search and try to mirror this in your listing titles. You may find more success with titles that do not have these terms, and instead focus on the item itself like 925k Sterling Silver Men's Onyx Ring. You don't need to include the sizes in your title, as they should be included in your item specifics which our search engine accesses to show results.
I recommend you check out our Knowledge Base Article on tips for times of slow sales and see suggestions may work for you and your business. There are a number of resources on eBay that may help you increase your sales and make the most of this slower period.

Im not sure I would use those multiple word search terms. They limit your search results and some are irrelevant. I dont use "unique" or "gemstone" when searching - would type mens onyx 14K gold ring. So list the gemstones you offer (ruby, onyx, tigers eye, labradorite, turquoise) and the metal offerings (14K gold filled, rhodium plated sterling, sterling, etc) and learn a bit more about jewelry, styles, designs, and stones. Note the carat size of the rubies etc, the cut (cushion, round, cabochon).
I sell on another site where people use all kinds of keywords in their listings - and are advised to by the site - that have nothing to do with what they are selling. People dont say hey show me a PRETTY ring or a CLASSY ring (these are opinions not facts or materials), they put in exactly what they want - stone, metal, style, size, color.
Here is an example:
EXPEDITED SHIPPING Unique Silver Handmade Ivy Men's Jewelry Gift Ring Ruby
Should be
Rhodium Plated Sterling Flames Mens Ring with 5 carat cushion cut Ruby
Your details say:
Metal : 925 sterling silver NO SUCH THING as 925K. 925 means it is 92% silver K is only for gold.
Gemstones : Ruby Quartz NO SUCH THING! Is it quartz or a ruby?
Cut :Facet Cushion Cut
Setting Type : Inlay one by one setting Decorative Prong
Plating : Rhodium plated
Product weight :10,80 gr Less important than the carats of the stone - find those and list them.
Also note that MOST rings are handmade or at least 90% of the production is manual (setting, molding, sizing, finishing, etc)

@Anonymous- how relevant are store category keywords? There is an episode of eBay Radio from last year where Griff said the store meta tags are pretty much obsolete because the search engines are focusing on item specifics instead. I don't remember the episode but if I can find it I will let you know.

Are you supposed to put commas between keywords or phrases when you enter more than 1 per line?
05-08-2018 03:16 PM
If you put in TWO (or more) words into a keyword then your item will be found ONLY when BOTH words are used. You will get better hits using only one and allowing the buyer's search terms to combine and find you. Put Sterling and Silver in separate boxes and it will find your item if EITHER is present. Put sterling silver and it will only find you if you use BOTH (and exactly in that order. REALLY hedge your bets and put sterling, silver, and 925 each in a separate box.

Full disclosure: I code web pages with metadata for a big part of my job so I know how to hit the search engines and get our info found.

Hi @lovtaco0, honestly the focus is much more on item specifics but these keywords do still provide benefit, especially for certain categories (jewelry and fashion are top examples). Only spaces are needed between keywords, no commas
