What is the purpose of ebay now sending 2 notifications that something is sold? In the past I would get one email that something sold and a notification when it has been paid for. I am now getting 2 different notifications that something has sold, one that states inventory sold and one that confims a sale plus a notification when paid. That's 3 emails for one listing. I get enough emails. I find this unecesarry and very annoying. Anyone know the reasoning behind this?

I'm lucky to get any sale confirmation emails at all....I get them for less than half my items sold. And I only get one per item when they DO come.
This opposite issue is a problem for me, too. Occasionally, I have used those emails as a backup system to help me confirm inventory.
So irritating...wish Ebay could ever get its act together.
My empathy to you!

Ebay's policy makers & tech people need jobs too, something to do, anything no matter how useless or unimportant.

Just another indication how unorganized ebay is. The new "Sale Confirmed" email is not only unnecessary, it's sadly lacking in information as well as inaccurate. I DO NOT have 112 items remaining. I have 7.
If they can't get the numbers they show us correct, how are we supposed to believe the numbers they use to determine search placement etc are correct?

Totally agree, please switch back to one email and include "inventory remaining" which the new emails do not have, this is a necessary statistic for bulk sellers

And in the payment notification email I get this:
"Hello xxx ,
This email confirms that you have received a payment for $xx.xx USD from xxxxxx xxxxx.
Receipt ID: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
The number above is the buyer's receipt ID for this transaction. Please retain it for your records so that you will be able to reference this transaction for customer service."
Not once, in over 50,000 transactions on eBay, have I ever needed to reference the buyer's Receipt ID. (Nor have I ever retained it for my records.)

There are a lot of notifications that aren't happening. Emails to watchers when there's a price change. The sold muck up. At first we were only getting the PayPal paid generated one. I have no idea anymore.
