Just wondering if anyone else has had their sales completely shut off before.... It's been 7 days without a single sale... My impressions, traffic, ect...is all down 50-75% out of no where. I've been slowly building the store up since Sept. In Nov- Dec I had 50-100 items and was getting sales at least a few day a week. In January I was up to 200+ Items listed and had a great January with sales almost every day, I doubled my 30 day average for Jan compared to dec. Jan 30 all of a sudden everything stopped...Every day my stats were turning red and that % just keeps growing. It just doesn't make sense. I've ended about half my listings and am editing them to try to help but no idea what's going on.

@rja649 wrote:USE SEOquake to check website traffic...................ebay has been getting busier and ranking higher every week....amazon about the same and for the rest of the middle of the road selling sites........they are freefalling..............so apparently the economy is not the issue.......................but i still get onesy twosy views for most items per cycle............but for other items with more views and watchers...............no sales............
Yea, my metrics here have changed.
I am now getting between 18% and 15% fewer impressions, and a corresponding reduction in views.
But, the click thru and conversion rate is unchanged.
This tells me, I think, that I am getting fewer eyeballs on my stuff. But the eyeballs that decide to look, and buy as a percentage hasn't changed (and those numbers are relatively high).
So, question is: what can I do to get more eyeballs on my stuff? And we've been over that several times. Key word optimization, seo optimized descriptions, effective title writing, at least four good pix's with white background.

robbie31415, you are correct, my prices are high because: its something new I have just done in the last couple of weeks, because nothing else has worked, and I am at my wits end!!!: I use promoted listings, above the standard percentage; I have used up to 40% off sales; I have done the pay-to-click off ad disaster; I have not relisted, but "sell similar" so that the listings are "fresh"; and I am a Top Rated Seller, but none of that is working. Good luck to you all, are lifeboats still available for this Titanic?

Looking at your listings and comparing them with other existing listings and with Solds, it looks like there just isn't much demand for a lot of the things you have listed and your prices are way out of line compared to the actual market values. For example, for your "Virginia On My Mind" book, there are 30 listed but 0 sold in the past 90 days. For the "Table Saw Techniques," there are 53 listed and only 4 sold, and your price is more than 6 times higher than the ones that have sold.
Even if you lower your prices, it looks like those items aren't likely to sell quickly because the demand is fairly low.

Check out promoted listings on Ebay with google and Ebay community. They are not even showing many promoted items and apparently choose the higher amount promoted to show often. Is it worth another high ebay fee to you.

I think more than anything, buyers and sellers alike are moving on to other platforms where they feel they are treated better with better rates/incentives. eBay is the wounded gorilla in the room and they're bleeding out due to their own blatant hypocrisy and ridiculous policy. The days of greedy FVFs and stupid policy will be the end of the giant, IMO.

Reports of eBay's impending death are greatly exaggerated, but keep spreading the theory.

My promoted listings are not showing as promoted anymore. They changed the search algorithm at the end of last year, and my listings, that used to be at the top of Google searches no longer show up. Ebay doesn't even show up until the third row down. Even if I cut and paste my wording into the search, my listings are pages down instead of at the top like they used to be. Further, I can no longer list because every time I try Ebay crashes until I reboot. Redo the listing and it crashes again. Ebay customer service reps acknowledge this is a known issue but that not enough people have reported it so it can not be called a site issue.

Ebay changed the search algorithm and sales went to hell. After 24 years here, the "improvements" have killed the ability to sell on this platform.

Ebay is collecting the vat when you purchase an item which is forwarded to the customs at the location the item is shipped to.
With my recent purchases, I receive the item, the customs in my country claims the vat one more time!
Ebay has done this mistake too many times for me.
I get refunded the vat, but not the customs fee!
No wonder the sales has decreased at ebay.
This summer I only have purchased from individual sellers, and will continue to do so.
I can see a lot of things that I want to buy, but not from ebay.
I’ve been a member since 2009, now I’m finished with ebay.
