Someone bought my item and minutes later I received messages with offers almost double what the buyer bought it for. What is the procedure here? I feel bad canceling but didn’t think it was worth so much.

It's easy, you honor the order that was already purchased by your buyer. Call it a pricing learning experience for you & try to price things better next time. Plus, ebay doesn't like to see too many cancelled orders.
Good luck!

The first sale was the only one you are allowed to accept.
Don't ship until you are paid.
In any case, there is a 99% chance that all those higher offers are scammers.
Don't cancel anything until you are paid.
And in future, don't bother with Auctions.
Most buyers hate them and will not bid.
Over 85% of transactions are Fixed Price.
And Auctions have ten times as many unpaid cancellations as Fixed Price.

Ignore the scammers. If the buyer is legitimate, they'll pay through the order and you can ship it. If it's the buyer who's making the higher offers, ignore, wait till after 4 full days have passed and cancel for nonpayment.

Okay, I'm confused.
I see you sold a Washington Capitals shirt for $45.
Minutes later you sold one for $450.
Do you have 2 of them?
Do NOT send the "buyer" your phone number nor accept any texts about payment. Those are scams.

I remember when I started selling on eBay I binge listened to a bunch of scavenger life podcasts.
Normally they would tell you in this scenario to suck it up and ship it to them anyway and be professional. But one time she posted a pair of jeans for like $20 not knowing they were extremely special and people were messaging her offering her hundreds of dollars for them. It was a rare case where she canceled the original sale and even I think accepted the negative feedback And felt really bad about it but still felt it was worth it.
When you say double do you mean people are offering you like $60 instead of $30? Or is it like they're offering you $400 instead of $200?
If you're not going to make more than a $100 extra by canceling I would suggest be professional and mail it to the person that bought it originally.
If you do decide to cancel you're going to receive a defect ( Because it would be extremely wrong to lie and say they asked you to cancel or there was a problem with the address) and if you're new it could really hurt your account. And you also could get a negative feedback that probably can't get deleted.

I probably should have looked at your sold listings before I posted .... I agree with others that it looks like you're being scammed

Absolutely Right! An Education Cost Money no matter the Subject or Endeavor!
Scam or not, it's given you a reason to pause and take a harder look.. Either way it falls you'll get some great knowledge out of this transaction!
Sometimes we Hit and sometimes we Miss.. If ya were willing to let it go for the 45.00 and made money after shipping and the bite eBay takes, ya did well!
Doing the Right "Old School" Thing!! I see nothing but good Juju Here!
Nice Ricki!

Did you have two of the same jersey? I see one sold today at auction for $45 and one today for a buy it now of $450.

Hey, StampsNiceReally!
Thanks for making me feel like the old guy in the dance club!
I recentley quit selling here (I'm very open and discoverable) because of all the problems you just described. When I started back on eBay as a seller (last July) after many years of just buying I went back to what i knew.. All my listings were Auctions, No "buy it now" option, (fear of leaving something on the table). No Returns, (because the youngins think the world is Amazon). No Offers, (ties up inventory in the response / counter offer period and it's an auction so time mattered). No Considerations At All if the buyers feedback was less than 10 (an early /old eBay suggestion btw).. All these things coupled with the 30 day wait period while eBay judged my selling behavior (in my mind questioned my credibility), and waiting on the good graces of buyer feedback after 22 + yrs here.. Insult to injury, I'm a stock holder lol! on and on..
All you listed is in fact correct.
I'm an irritated old dog then ebay moved my food dish.. I'm not happy about Seller issues being discounted at every turn but your correct in your response.. Not saying I'll sell here again because my category of items seem better suited elswhere but ya definitely made me think.
May not be able to learn the New trick but can Certainly understand it!
Thanks
Now get off my lawn!

Gophers are like moles (sort of) only bigger. They wreak havoc on a garden by making holes everywhere.
