SUSPENSION

I am a 20 year seller that have run into eBays error problem. I asked for a grace period to fix thing up but was turned down. Short version - I am now prevented from listing until my performance improves. I can make refunds but it will not improve until I can fix it.  Catch 22. All my inventory is already listed but I only sell 2-3 items per week. At that rate how long will my suspension last? One or two review periods?  Any comments?

So, what have you not done that allowed you to get this suspension. Details are key in assistance.

Hi, sorry to hear this. What did the eBay message you received about the suspension say exactly? Does it ask for documentation of some kind? Need a few details before advice can be given.

What does your dashboard say?  https://sellerstandards.ebay.com/dashboard?region=US

Nothing should be a surprise if you keep an eye on your seller dashboard.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

I use variation listing for comics and cards. Over the last couple of months eBay has not removed items from the drop down list when sold them on my listings. Therefore customers try to buy items already sold so I have of course refunded their payments.  Ebay has issued warnings to me that I am in danger of being suspended. I had no way to predict when eBay would fail again.  Truth be told I should have contacted them earlier (as if I could). I was currently auditing my inventory so I could be sure it was eBay's fault, which it is.  They said they will reinstate once my performance improves. I can't fix the outstanding listings because they cut off my access to them. Catch 22.  I am stuck!

Have you ended and relisted this type of listing at any time?

I want to say that on a multi variation when you relist, it makes it a brand-new listing with all of the items as available. It does not retain or remove the sold items from the listing if that makes sense.

You should still be able to end the listings that have non active items in them though.

I have canceled and released the listing recently but I made no changes to it. Any sold items would have been marked as such. Any sold items should have been removed upon relist. It should have just copied what was there.  I can simply delete the listing. That would solve the issue of selling sold items but I would miss the other good sales. That is a lot for work for me.  If I just delete the listing I would have to wait for my re-instatement to set it them up again.  So, relist or cancel. That's the choice.  🙂

You need to do SOMETHING to pump up the sales.  You need lots of sold items without defects. Then the percentage of defects will be a lower number overall.  You need to slash prices! Give them away if you have to.

Sounds like you had the OOS (out of stock) option selected, keeping those items 'still showing' on a variation.

I don't believe there is any fix to this except just selling what you have.

Seems you do sell better than 2-3 per week as you sold at least 7 per week avg the past 90 days.

You can ask for a review of your account every 30 days.

Can you change those variation listings to have only one item each, one that you definitely have in stock?

This would reduce the number of your listings and perhaps allow you to add the removed listings as new ones. (I confess I have never used variation listings, even as a buyer.)

When  you sell an item are you allowed to list another? Sounds like you can't.

The bottom line is, I guess, I am not able to revise or lower prices on my listings. (Locked out) So I have two choices: One, ride out the suspension selling what comes OR Two, place the listings in the END LISTING section and hope the suspension will end within 60 days (end listings limit) so I can relist and revise the listings to solve the problem.  If not, I will have to re-create all the listings that are in error. Lots of work!  This suspension is punitive because eBay will not allow me to solve the issue now. 20 years of at or above performance doesn't count. I don't even know how I will know if the suspension is lifted. Thanks for all the advice, friends.
