SUPPLY CHAIN DELAYS

Can eBay please do something about our seller status being affected negatively by items that do not ship on time. In case the business geniuses at eBay haven't noticed, the supply chain is worse right now than it was a the height of the pandemic. All you have to do is go to your local grocery store and you can see for yourself by the price increase in everyday common household goods. Please do something about this, so that our seller status is not affected due to this issue.

How are the "Supply Chain" issues affecting your ability to ship your items on time?

If you're having problems getting items from your supplier, you shouldn't be listing them.

Have a great day.

Grocery stores don't sell items that aren't currently on their shelves.

@austin44csh  - If you are drop-shipping as other posters state - you must be doing something right as your FB is excellent and your buyers rave about you.

Even when things are on "back order", which is impressive.  We all "resource" items to sell.  Just usually having them in your possession when you list them, works best - but I have to admit, if you are having issues, it does not show in your FB and usually it does.

Must be your shipping metrics are what is causing your headache, thus the post?

I doubt e-bay will cut you any slack on shipping times/metrics - hard enough to get those in a nor'easter or hurricane as even then, e-Bay is slow to do it.  They do it, but usually not quick enough for my liking.

You won't get a lot of sympathy on the boards as the "average" seller wears all 92 hats and does their own resourcing, invests their hard earned buckeroos in their inventory, takes their own pix and writes their listings themselves - then we have to pack and ship it also.  We can't point/click and have a 3rd party do that for us.

There is something to be said though for knowing what will sell the way you do it (if that is your module).  I have to pay for warehouse space and deal with the dud(s) I bought that I was "sure" would sell.  lol

Hopefully you can find a supplier that ships quicker or is not out of stock/back-ordered as often.  Or worse yet - you buying from a guy doing what you're doing........ adding another layer to the shipment maze.

Good luck.  It's only Monday, so who knows what fun things await us all tomorrow!

The business geniuses at eBay know that when buyers don’t get their stuff in the promised time frame, they may leave and not come back. So they don’t care about your supply problems. Don’t promise what you can’t deliver.

The issue being that you cannot ship on time?

How is that not your responsibility and why would seek to be given a free pass on this when shipping on time is just good business? I can understand shipping delays when the carriers are at fault, but not this.

Nonetheless, you have an excellent record.

Ebay still sides with buyers. Some of my buyers are inpatient and do not realize items are out of stock or on perpetual backorder. If they order and I refund them, they still give me negative feedback even after explaining. My limit got decreased

Your next stop is the door, selling things you don't have is one of the most serious eBay policy violations there is. It's entirely on YOU.

You earned those negs. You should not list items that you cannot ship.
