Hey I wanted to see if there was a way to remove my ssn of eBay I did it back in July and don’t want it there any more I made 1 sale this year but refunded it before I shipped it so nothing should show up on my income is there anyway to remove it?

Sorry if u got that idea I don’t use phones that often and also it is true I did say the sale was $417 but I recently went on to see that the total I would have made was 365 after all fees where taken off but that doesn’t matter I refunded the buyer and will not recive a 1099k $417 and $365 doesn’t make a difference because it is still under the thresholds and I don’t sell American ssn the reason I have a new account is because I am in the process of closing the account I made the sale on in hopes of it removing my ssn because I don’t like it on there is a misunderstanding I don’t like how just cause I put the $ in the wrong spot you assumed I use American ssn numbers and scan

I was under the impression that sellers only needed to provide the last 4 digits of their SSN until they started selling a high amount. If that's the case ... you shouldn't have to be concerned about anyone misusing it ... IF you can't get it removed.
They required my FULL SSN. The option of only the last 4 digits came in at a later date. I was
forcedopted in February of this year. Maybe around May that nice last 4 digit option came into play. I remember people talking about that option around late June/early July...and I thought...son of a gun...ugh...
Frankly, I don't see how just the last four of one's Social Security Number would satisfy the need for the Managed Payments processor to be able to comply with IRS requirements. While it may be helpful in pulling up information and matching it to the person, it wouldn't be sufficient filing the correct IRS paperwork that may be required.

Actually, unless your sales met the criteria requiring a 1099, no you probably won't receive one. Of course, just not receiving a 1099 doesn't mean that you aren't required to report your income from your eBay sales.

Ok well I might as wells tell you the situation basically I made a sale for 365$ but refunded the buyer in full so no profits where made or deposited to my bank do I still have to report this (this was a old item at my house I flipped to make a few bucks)

It doesn't matter how much was deposited in your bank account. If you refunded and your bookkeeping shows that then you probably wouldn't need to report that. However, if your bookkeeping shows a sale for that amount but no corresponding refund, it would be income and should be reported. My suggestion is to consult your tax advisor.
By the way, your use of the $ at the end of a figure tends to cause some of us to question whether or not you are located in the USA.

See that right there shows you don't have any idea what American tax filing looks like. Unless you are a teenager filing for the first time or something, certainly NOT someone experienced enough in finance to be flipping houses, you would know that the question "will I receive anything on my 2021 taxes about Ebay" doesn't even make sense! What Americans RECEIVE, BEFORE tax filing time, is W2 forms showing the details of their work income, and/or 1099 forms showing the details for income other than from their job. If this question to Pathfinder is just asking the 1099 question a different way, HOW MANY REPLIERS do you you need to give you that answer?
You know what? --YES Nokraj, you WILL receive the 1099 for that $400, $417, $365 or whatever sale, even though you never got the money. Or rather, the person whose SSN you used will receive it, and Ebay will totally trace it to you, and you'll be getting a knock on your door from your local authorities. Would it be hard to cross into the border of any nearby countries? You might want to start planning now.
And quit with the 'my phone' thing. No phone autocorrects dollar displays like that.

Since the OP appears to be new ... I assumed that's all they needed to provide. Is that not true?
Back in January when I switched over, they wanted the full SSN, but now they just ask for the last 4.
