For about the past week, when using my IE-11, I have not been able to access the Ebay Homepage because no matter how many times I try accessing it a pop-up always appears saying 'INTERNET EXPLORER HAS STOPPED WORKING'. Today I finally found out a way to get around this 'IE-11 Allowing No Access To Ebay Homepage Glitch' and it is to access a specific item or category such as by googling: 'ebay bike' or 'ebay book' and then clicking on that URL to get into the Ebay site. The search must contain the word 'EBAY' and once you click on the URL then you can access all of the MY EBAY pages and other pages. This is sort of a backdoor method of accessing Ebay until they cure the IE-11 glitch. The glitch is just with the Ebay Homepage and not with any of the other Ebay pages so do not try to access the homepage when within the website otherwise you will keep getting the pop-up. I also utilize Google Chrome (mostly for Youtube) which is unaffected by the Ebay homepage glitch. I prefer to use IE for Ebay & Chrome for YT.

Interesting topic, I too have still been using IE-11, was not aware that it was no longer being supported by Microsoft! I have my eBay site bookmarked but lately the bookmark cuts out just as soon as it loads. Has numerous other buggy problems but I didn't know why. Thought it was my computer messing up as it is several years old.
I am also having trouble with video on AOL using IE-11, I do have Chrome installed and have been using it more lately although the interface looks slightly different, it works so much better & faster, so I will try to get used to it and forget about IE.
Thanks for this info, or I probably would have just stumbled along, thinking it was something wrong with my computer.

If IE continues to be a pain then I will abandon ship without hesitation but I have used IE for so long it would be hard to become so familiar with another browser. I'll cling onto IE until its glitches reach my pain threshold

Try accessing My Ebay from the Ebay Motors homepage because there are no 'IE has stopped working' popups on that page

Thanks for the advice. What I do now is access My Ebay from the Ebay Motors homepage where I get no popups

If you do that you're opening yourself up to security breaches. You will have to familiarize yourself with another browser eventually and you said you're already semi-familiar with Firefox. Better to switch now. It's the security bugs you can't see that you need to be concerned about.

So THAT explains IT!!! I have Windows 10 and Edge on one laptop and Windows 7 and IE on the other. Can't get eBay to work on the old one because IE keeps closing. I'll try (not tech savvy) to get Edge with the Windows 7 and see what happens. Thanks so much for your answer and enlightenment!!!
Will it be worth it to try to get something to run with the windows 7 when it appears that is not going to be supported early next year?
All good things must come to an end, even Windows 7. After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7.

The far better solution would be to simply update to an up-to-date browser (like Edge) that will not encounter these issues, as they will become more frequent and occur with more websites as time goes on because websites are no longer designing their sites to be compatible with IE.
I was going to say the same @yuzuha because it's the correct response- but I know a few IE users and they like to cling tight. They will go down with the ship if they have to. The problem the OP is experiencing is just the very beginning.
Oh, you mean like some of us who still use XP? Yep, we just go sailing around the North Atlantic, looking for icebergs.

Rather than looking for a work around, they should be looking for a new browser. Edge is Microsoft's newest browser. As others have mentioned, they will continue to experience problems with IE in the future on more and more sites. Eventually it will be not only buggy, but insecure as well. The sooner the switch is made the better.
Ya know what? Over the years, I've found, many times, that the programs that are 'out-of-date' or have been replaced are the more secure - people stop trying or bothering to hack into them because 'nobody important' uses them anymore.

As of today's date of 3/22/2019 I still am getting the error pop-ups when I try to access the regular Ebay homepage but there is no such problem with the Ebay Motors homepage so I use this page to access My Ebay now. I do use Chrome every once in awhile when IE11 'acts-up' when I am listing something. For example sometimes when I am uploading pictures to a listing IE11 will reject an image due to saying it is a 'corrupted file / image' but when I switch this same listing over to Chrome I have never had a problem with it rejecting images. I also use Chrome to leave feedback because IE11 will not save to memory my usual feedback message making me retype it each time. Microsoft may have purposely put glitches into IE11 to get people frustrated & fed up enough so they switch to Edge . Thanks for your input

I used IE for as long as I use the internet and I am sooooooo used to it, don't really want too switch, especially it feels like to be in OLD RUSSIA where they said what you can and what you can't, I don't like to be dictated,
but it started out that I could not pay my sellers fee, because the pop up did not work, now I want to see my seller account transactions and the pop up does not work,
right now writing this, the computer goes back and forth in the lines and I have to type very slow, that it will be accepted by the (computer/software/IE, etc) ?????

People still use Internet Explorer?
Quit. And use something like Google Chrome.
