Hello
SOLD Expensive item to new user 1 FEEDBACK . I need protection HELP!! $1200 concern
I have been selling on eBay for quite sometime now. I have been fortunate enough to be able to make some pretty good sales to new buyers without having a fraud or some crazy loss.
Well I have just sold a tapestry to a new buyer that has 1 feedback and that feedback came from which is automatic when a buyer pays for one of my items.
I am wondering what I can do to protect myself and the item I just sold from being scammed or what ever else can happen from a bogus buyer.
The tapestry I just sold went for $1200 and I can not afford to end up eating this item and loosing it and the sell all together.
What can I do to guarantee that I get covered before shipping this?
Thanks

gosh no - only when the item is very expensive, or I have a high enough level of suspicion. Especially with old records, grading, from some sellers, is extremely generous.

Never sell an item you can't afford to lose. Bottom line......

I am not quite understanding. You say you have been selling on Ebay for some time now. I would assume when you made the listing you already knew there is risk to selling on line. Why now that you have buyer you are scared ? Where you scared when you submitted the listing ? With that said ship using signature confirmation.

They Authenicate designer bags now. My LV I was selling was Authenticated and Buyer still started return/Refund as not Described. Item was Listed as No Returns/Refunds and Ebay sided with Buyer. I listed item cause I was in a financial hardship and needed $$ cash. I got stuck with a $68 Listing Fee, $70 shipping insured, Buyers return shipping cost $13. Then item was returned to childhood address that was used to open my Ebay profile 20yrs ago. Which was a 240 mile 4 hr round trip to get my property back. And Ebay will do NOTHING. So don't think they will hold a Buyer in any way responsible.
Nothing like attempting to sell an item cause you need the cash and it ended up costing you over $250.

I've had my account for 20yrs. Mostly just buy. But after my experience selling a designer bag that Ebay Authenticated and still allowed Buyer to Return. I'll NEVER REPEAT NEVER SELL on Ebay again. Absolutely no protection for Seller
No accountability on Buyer.
Cost me nearly $250 to try and sell my Louis Vuitton bag.
