When someone files a SNAD against you, does ebay consider the other 10, 20 or 100 other customers who bought one and had no problem? If you sell 1687 of an item and only 1 person complains that it's not as described, doesn't that pretty much say that this 1 person is full of it? Does anyone know if ebay takes that in to consideration?

No, it pretty much says that you think you're perfect and can't even make a mistake 1 out of 1,687 times.

No.
You could have gotten a bad batch of whatever it is that the buyer is complaining about and the buyer is the tip of the iceburg.
Besides if other buyers complained without filing a case and you refunded, ebay doesn't really count those.

Does anyone a eBay take this into consideration? Paraphrased from inhawaii.
No, because no one at eBay ajudicates seller/buyer issues. It's all handled by eBay's subcontractor in some distant land.
Therefore, not only does no one at eBay consider this, no one at eBay even knows about your case or any other case.

They were supposed to take the sellers and buyers statistics into consideration, but as you can read here, that doesn't happen at all.

No, they don't because things do get broken in the mail, and items may be damaged but not seen before shipping as well.

Many is the time I've opened boxes of merchandise straight from the supplier at work that had broken/damaged/defective items in them.

They have never done that as it has no bearing on the OP's problem. The good news for the OP is it is only 1 of 1000 so the percent is OK. Maybe one got broke or whatever. Do you really think that buyer who got a bad one should not be allowed to return it ? Come on now. Of course you will reply that the buyer is a scammer.

Feedback is not a part of eBay's measurement of Seller accounts any more.
And a good thing too, since the norm for years has been that only about 40% of transactions got any feedback at all.
Now -- if you refuse to refund the unhappy buyer, you will get a Defect which does count on your Seller Account.
And the buyer gets a refund anyway, without necessarily having to return the widget.
And eBay adds the cost of the refund to your monthly invoice.

I'd say I get about 1 SNAD complaint (not always cases) in 400 sales. Say 25 per 10,000.
Of those, about 5 are my fault, absolutely, I missed something.
About 18 are nonsense. The most recent, buyer bought my lens to use on a camera which is known (to Google) not to be able to use that lens (the required adapter doesn't succeed in adapting). Is buyer "full of it"? I don't know, but I can understand that buyer is trying to buy a lens and it didn't work out. SNAD for me.
About 2 of them are flat out scams. 2 per 10,000. I pay them off, think of what lesson to be learned, and move on.

Happened just last week, in fact-- I was unpacking a box of mugs and one of them had a great big chip on the rim. The rest of the mugs in the box were just fine.

You really need to learn reading comprehension.
Did I ever say any of those things? All I stated was what ebay itself said.
