Afternoon Folks,
This is why Ebay is DYING for SMALL Sellers.
If any of you follow my comments you know, from a few posts I made last week, that I made A LOT of purchases recently and mostly from small sellers.
Here is just a few of my experiences from these orders:
1) Purchased a BEAUTIFUL wall lamp to match another for the cabin. Item came loosely packed in an untaped, unsecured box slipped into a thin vinly mailer...no bubble wrap...nothing. Item arrived with package "clunking" and once I opened the flimsy mailer jacket the light is damaged beyond junk.
2) Purchased expensive sandpaper...came in manilla envelope...inside...damp to almost wet pack of paper rewrapped and short on paper with paper almost useless because it is not wet paper...it's for wood...cost a dollar a sheet.
3) Purchased a different pack of paper like above...different grit from different vendor. Not packaged at all, label simply taped over the store jacket that actually allows 30 to 40% of the paper literally exposed. Tape was over the back side and front, sticking to paper.
4) Purchased 10 male end connectors for commericial electrical cording...product was shaking around inside box...opened to find a nice note with 2 extras...for a total of 12...but no packaging...screws loose and product scruffed up from bouncing around in box.
5) Purchased 250' Roll M/C Electrical cable...was delivered by Lowes (didn't order from Lowes). Product well packaged and came quickly.
6) Purchased specialty hinges...bunched together...no protective packaging...stuffed in Flat Rate USPS bubble mailer.
7) Purchased specialty cabinet leg levelers...15 Inside a box...5 laid on top of box...no extra padding or protection slipped in Tyvek USPS envelope with the extra 5 subject to the mercy of the elements and USPS handling.
😎 2 Tires for Mrs C car...supposed to be here today....no tires and still haven't shipped.
9) 5 large packs of sandpaper from different vendor...well packaged in P/Mail box...excellent seller.
10) 2' x 3' MD decorative aluminum panel...shipped from H/Depot...damaged beyond repair...came in over size flat box...unsecured inside resulting in it slicing it's way out of the box.
So...based on discussing the above few items...no wonder folks are prone to be cranky as buyers.
In closing who would:
a) Take all the time necessary to contact each seller to give them a chance to resolve
OR
b) Just Simply open a bunch of SNAD's where applicable

Good work Mr. C
Morning Smiley...hey wait a minute...I used to say that to the kids all the time!
Ok, sandpaper was returned to Billionaire seller (at least that is what he said) on Friday. Interestingly, ebay shows the progress chart...you know the part where the green bar lights up over each section completed...as delivered right after I printed off the return label.
I did contact Ebay CS Saturday night and they said it was a glitch and that they could see it was only picked up and the estimated delivery was for today, Monday.
The crazy thing is yesterday I received an email from Ebay saying I had been refunded since the package shows delivered. Now isn't that a corker...an ebay glitch causes an early auto refund when the item still hasn't been delivered.
Regarding the tires, return delivery shows Friday night I believe...still waiting on refund.

Has the millionaire seller contacted you since the auto-refund?
I am seriously interested in what he thinks of his "no returns" heel-digging stance now ... not that I wish him on you any more 😞
If he does contact you, maybe just point him at the seller standards page LOL
The tire seller accepted the return, right? That gives him 6 days to issue your refund ... I hope he doesn't drag you around 😞
Is he a big seller? Not that I am condoning delays, but RMA processing can take a while with the big guys 😞

Hi Penguin,
Another long day here and another follow up service call.
We have not heard anything from our Billionaire snad paper seller ( I mean sand paper, notice how I can use the same letters to say the same thing lol)...but then he told me he was moving to New Zealand or something...who knows.
The tire fella is a mid size seller with about 8000 plus feedback but as far as tire sellers...small. Currently still no refund.

Lots of fun, not! You don't need this on top of your heavy schedule.
The SNAD SANDPAPER King may just be sulking because he has no witty comeback to the $10 sandpaper on the floor against the wall retort, and he has just now figured out, HE will pay the refund and return shipping!
Tire Guy may just have hoped you would settle. As in, they are tires, right?
I know most transactions go off without a hitch but it can be all too common to run into this!

Hi Castle,
Well Just got off the phone with an Ebay US rep...awesome fella...of course I would say that cause he LOVED Mr C.
Okay here is another spin on the sandpaper guy.
He left this reply to our negative feedback which was "Arrived wet, damaged, not new, can not return, difficult seller" :
this guy is a complete idiot moron cannot be trusted i laughed at him when they
It does appear he ran out of space when commenting.
The Ebay Cs Rep indicated that this sellers now has 5 things against him.
His removed false postive feed back to me they already removed.
The above mentioned reply to my feed back PLUS another violation for calling me names...so that 3.
Then even though it was a SNAD case that technically incurs only 1 defect, because he was agressive and refused and it became a MBG the CS guy says it actually counts as a double defect. He opened an account review internally of the fella and figures he won't be selling here long considering he hasn't even had enough sale (10) to show his DSR ratings.

Oh yeh Castle the tire thing.
You said:

Well I also talked to the rep about this order and he also indicated that that seller appeared to have a pattern of "Out Of Stock" complaints from buyers.
We reviewed that order and he saw that many folks ran into the same thing and then after the original shipping label was created and fell of because no tires were actually sent...later on, sometimes a week or later like mine, a new shipping label was created and then "substitute" tires were sent.
He agreed with me that this is an extremely strict area of selling on ebay and have little tolerance for out of stock sales.
He mentioned many drop shippers are also getting caught up with this because items are listed but then not available after a purchase.
He indicated there are 3 areas ebay wants sellers to clean up.
1) Poor packaging
2) Drop shippers (especially those using their Amazon Personal Prime accounts) because there are lots of issues with these sellers with out of stock sales and difficult returns.
3) Bait and Switch sellers

Hi, Mr C!
I would beg to differ with the Ebay rep. The areas they need to clean up are:
!. Site glitches.
2. Items not being accurately described, seller missing damage.
3. Rude, hostile, abusive sellers.
4. Sellers cancelling and relisting for more money.
5. Poor packing
6. Asian (China) sellers listing location as US but shipping from China.
7. Asian (China) sellers not shipping at all.
I understand the rep spoke about areas they wanted sellers to clean up, and the first area I listed was not a seller issue, but buyers want functionality.
I don't buy from China but there are many threads about issues with buying from there on the Buying Board.

He probably should have more than that!

Wonder if the guy actually had three selling accounts as he said.

The one that made me the angriest was a designer blouse, silk, that was just jammed in a plastic envelope and of course I cut into it trying to open the package. Arghhhh.moondogblues ---
I've done that too , ruined a new grey blouse by accidently cutting the bag to open it . Although I should have been more careful I can't help but think the seller should have included a buffer zone while packing or at least added a warning to the outside of the package. However I accepted the total blame for the missap ,, but I'm more careful now when opening packages of clothing .Some sellers just don't care once they receive your money.

For Mr C and anyone else who has been interested in this thread:
You might want to see this thread on the Buying Board.
It is not just Mr C; it is not just me.
O.M.G. what is going on?! I have been buying on eBay for four years, first through my husband's account and now through my own two accounts. In four years, I only received one Item Not As Described--clothing shipped from China.
In the last month, of the nine items I purchased:
2 items were Significantly Not As Described,
1 item was damaged because seller threw it loose in a tyvek envelope with no bubble wrap,
1 seller reneged on a auction I won (I suspect because I won at $2 with free shipping, and it would have cost her $4.36 to mail).
I hate, Hate, HATE filing claims against sellers, but this is ridiculous--45% of my purchases
(each under $15) have been big disappointments. 45% makes me look like a difficult buyer, when in fact I have submitted photos proving that what I received does not match what was advertised.
Note: These items are from Top Sellers, based in the US with more than a thousand feedbacks received. Rated between 99.2% to 100%.

It occurred to me today that you many never hear from some of these abusive sellers again once you complain about them to Ebay. Possibly they receive a strongly worded Ebay message advising them to stop communicating with this buyer, in addition to the violations they have racked up for posting negative feedback, spamming, hostile and abusive messages, etc.
In the case of abusive messages from the seller, once you call, they go silent. Some may continue for a short while, but possibly the message had not been received yet.
Just some thoughts.

Well, then you have the dreams... where is my 7/16 wrench
Oh wait, that is not a dream, These guys leave tools all over the hanger.
My box is all in order, at the end of the day, I open each drawer, and check for all in place.
Kids... take care of your tools, and they will take care of you.
Sorry, I have tools on the mind...
I still have My two layer tool Box from My job At crystal Sugar.
I still have it locked in the storage trailer.
as the shade tree mechanics threw their tools with a clatter
it put my mind in a lather,
I looked at the mess they had made with their tools even in the grass.
I knew that I was the person who could surpass,
The care of their tools all over the land mass.
I decided to be an _ _ _
My Husband ask for the key
I looked him straight in his eyes and said gee.
I looked at his mechanics who were pretty messy,
Using their tools that were rusty.
I thought about the nice tools inherited from My Dad
whose rules were ironclad
The shade tree mechanics tools looked pretty sad.
As I prayed to the trinadad,
Father forgive me for this lie,
I prayed looking on high.
The Shade tree machanics did not qualify
to Use My dad's tools I could not deny.
No I do not know where the key is at
Looking at the shade tree mechanic
with the greasy hat.
I decided Not to be a doormat.
My husband yelled at me
looking at me in misery,
as he said with his tone quite crabby
as I looked at him timidly.
I kept it on My chain of keys,
that I carried everwhere with me,
Thinking about the times me and My father worked together longingly
I really hated to lie You see.
