A few weeks ago I received emails from Ebay stating that Sellers of coins had to include the coin's date and denomination. I went thru all by listing to make sure that I was up to date.
Now I get an email saying eBay is managing my account. That "Business sellers) will be allowed to list coins. I have a large inventory of coins. I am a soleproprator , so note on my Income Tax returns and Sales Tax permit. Will ebay consider this a "bsiness" or am I stuck will an inventory of Coins? It is dangerous to stock anything in dept because eBay may allow it today and not tomorrow. In the 22 years I have been selling on ebay this has happened several times, just not this bad.

This isnt an answer to your question but some added info. I sold 6 figures worth of coins here yearly for years. We use to not collect taxes. Here in Georgia as well, coins and bullion are a tax exempt item as well. So walk into a coin shop, buy a coin, pay no taxes. Many states have the same policy. Ebay has and still does make the mistake of charging buyers sales tax on coins. Ive had it happen when both me the seller and the buyer are from states where coin sales are tax exempt. Goodluck getting the customers money back.
