SELLERS COST

There is A COST in placing an auction.

It consists of MONEY payed for listing and TIME for listing it ?

No.

Let me break it down for You  ;

1. to purchase something that You're going to sell , You had to FIND IT first. You had to CHOOSE exactly this item knowing it could have profit. How did You know it ?

2. First You made TIME to educate Yourself in what's good and what is not. You MADE that time by NOT DOING OTHER THINGS that could be important for Your wallet or health. It is a Choice and a Sacrifice, but sure that knowledge did not fall from the sky and sure You made A LOT OF MISTAKES before learning.

3. You had to know MORE than Your buyer so You learned more. Why ? So You aim for the best price and service.

4. Your photos are not made just because it's good to have a photo. You PRACTICE photography of different items under different light with different devices. You do this to have BEST photo. The one that makes Them want to buy the item.

5. You struggled between choices while learning and paying for it until You became POSITIVE on HOW to sell something , WHY and WHEN . You learned prices , tactics and Buyers behavior.

They do not buy everything every day. You know that now,You lost a lot of money on that knowledge.

You chose the right date , right photo , the best description, the best Auction, template, bold letters , price, visibility , promotion...whatever , the PERFECT MIX .... and then :

a) Your auction ends with 3 views , 1 bid , buyer asks if there is cheaper option to send it with ˝normal˝letter . Ends up unpaid in 4 days. Ebay proudly sends message WE'VE CANCELLED THIS FOR YOU FOR BEING UNPAID.

or

b) Buyer pays , gets the item and then send You a message ...hmm.. I do not exactly agree this is what I thought it is . I guess description was not that clear or something... Send me 2 more of these  for free and I'll leave a positive feedback.

In option a) You can not explain the damage You suffered to Ebay or anyone. You are the only one who knows how much exactly You lost, but to continue with life , You need to forget it and go on because there is no help and no solution.

In option b) You can not explain with words what You would do to this ˝buyer˝ or Ebay for allowing this . You are the only one who knows how much exactly You lost, but to continue with life , You need to cope with this  because there is no help and no option where You are considered  as a victim here.

In both cases You are A SELLER  and for Ebay Seller is never a victim

The truth of SELLERS COST and losses ... You may want to forget it

because thinking about it would lead to one question only ;

WHY THE HELL I CONTINUE DOING THIS !?

My answer is ; I continue because I hope that things will change to better . I am willing to wait because I've invested to much already.

To be a non US citizen and to become a Top Rated Seller , to continue daily fights with fraudsters , system that likes them more , ebay glitches and bugs, to know every post office worker and cost ,not to have a help or advice, no Ebay phone call in any direction, AI machines making STUPID answers to Your email with description of issue You have , Indians get lost when message them through Chat With Us .......

I CONGRATULATE TO EVERYONE WHO UNDERSTANDS ME

because , my friend , only we know THE COST

best !

L

SELLERS COST

Not sure what you are trying to convey........but yes, there are costs to become a successful seller on ebay or anywhere.......as there are costs in anything one tries to do....  most things require learning/education/doing/failure as well as success and most of the time you have to do it alone.......tho there are often knowledge centers you can find to help with specific problems.

Dealing with people is/can be stressful.......a clerk in a store deals with people who complain about things that are way beyond his control......a teacher deals with parents who refuse to take responsibility for overseeing their kids, a lawyer with people who don't take responsibility for their own actions........  People are not perfect.  But the more experience you have, the better you are able to deal with the problems.  Sellers do have to learn to slough off the problems and irritations......that's part of the process.

If you have questions, there are plenty of people here that can offer help or advice.

SELLERS COST

Couldn't figure out your purpose in posting this.

One would hope that everyone who buys or sells on eBay went to the trouble to do some preparatory reading about the rules etc.  For those who don't bother to arm themselves with knowledge, yes, this can be a disappointing experience.

You are, however, pretty much preaching to the choir here.
