SELLER NOT PROTECTED

I have sold a vinyl record to a seller, since this pandemic the post office is slowing down the delivery. Buyer opened a case (even knowing that it was in transit) and eBay (of course and always) give the "Protection" to the BUYER...

Well, so it finally arrive to the destination and this is what I get:

I've reviewed the case further, and I can see that the case has been closed more than 30 days already. We only accept appeal if the transaction is still within the 30 days time frame. This is to be fair among all other members.

In order for this issue to be resolved, I suggest that you contact and ask your buyer to pay you through Paypal just send an invoice. If the buyer wants to return the item, please facilitate the return and ask the buyer to send the item in the same condition as you shipped it.

I understand you were hoping for a different response, but I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity to clarify the situation.

eBay is USELESS helping and Protecting the Sellers. Simple as that. Thanks eBay.

I understand your feelings,  but it has been a rule, per this platform. If you plan on selling, it is imperative that you try and list with expedient shipping. If not, at the very least, mention in your listing the issues with delayed delivery that is not within your power to control.

Hard times for those that sell and ship.

I wish for you many successful sales moving forward.

Sorry but that's not a good answer. Expedient Shipping is not an alternative, no one is going to buy if the shipping is higher than the item cost. Sorry but no.

Anyway, everyone knows that eBay DOESN'T PROTECT the SELLERS. It's a FACT.

Thanks for your wishes.

There has to be rules.  So knowing the rules will help you in the future.

This does happen far more frequently through this pandemic.  I've had a few myself.  The first thing I do is contact my buyer, not Ebay.  A nice polite, professional email explaining that I'm aware that the package has finally arrived.

I explain we have two options.  If they still do not want the item, please write return to sender on the envelope without opening it and stick it back in the mail.  Or if they want to keep it, I can send them a PP invoice in which they would need to pay from.  If they want option 2, please send me your email address.

I give that a few days.  If the buyer doesn't respond, I send it again.  Wait a couple days and then if there is nothing from them my next email is still polite and professional but a bit sterner.  I let them know that they either need to pay for the item or return it.  If they are unwilling to work with me on this I will report them to Ebay and to USPS for mail fraud.  Using USPS as part of a way to defraud someone is a federal crime.

Good luck, I sure hope you get paid or your product back.

Well, If you see that is delivered and help a seller. You do it, it's common sense but nowadays seems like is lost. Also nothing new. I don't care if it is a RULE, not always RULES helps to fix or know things. Every case is different, even if you can help, so help, don't stick just because the "rule" tell you to do something.

Thanks for your solution but I believe he's not going to help and wasting my time with eBay and USPS... I know that everytime I have a case with eBay. I have 99.9% chances that as a SELLER I'm going to lose.  Same happened to me with PayPal.

Thanks agains.

I'm doing that too. Been a longtime seller on this platform but every year they try their best to disappoint me.
