buyer buys coin at auction, then complains about the price ($150) and wants to return it. then does a forced return and sends me back a piece of junk worth $20. the tracking shows "delivered" and ebay pulls the money out of my account instantly EVEN AFTER I CALLED THEM AND TOLD THEM WHAT WAS GOING ON. they said they would review pictures etc.... but didn't. they said give us 24 hours... the money was gone in 2 minutes..... the scammers win on ebay. good luck folks!

@coindexter1 Sorry that this happened to you. Ebay will pretty much always side with the buyer all we can do as sellers is to report the bad buyer. I know it stinks.
If the buyer gets enough reports then ebay takes away their MBG and may even ban them

The squeaky wheel gets the grease - call again and talk to a different CS.
Rinse, repeat until they give you back your money.
Make sure you use the Report Buyer link on the transaction drop down, too. Preferably before you call EBay again - then you can direct them to the Report.

I’m sorry this happened. Is there any weight difference between the coin you sent and the one you received? If so, does the return shipping reflect that? You can post that is proof that they did not h and the one you received? If so, does the return shipping reflect it? You can post that is proof that you did not receive the original merchandise.

And call after call the reps are going to keep telling this seller the same thing over and over, how does this help?

I am so sorry this happened to you. Stay on it with Ebay. Call again if needed. Also PLEASE make sure you report the buyer.
Keep in mind that with the Spring seller update, if you report the buyer and Ebay deems there was abuse by the buyer on the return, you will get the SNAD removed from counting in the Service Metrics as well as getting Ebay to refund the money to you.

Coins is a high scam category I once had one scammer claiming my ancient Roman coin was not silver when I know it was. What's more he had the same coin I sent him for sale on his eBay site stated as silver. CS could not understand what I mentioned when I said the buyer was reselling the same coin. They refunded him anyway. Sadly selling coins on here your going to lose some to these types of people. Not much you can do block them and make note of his postal address in case he comes back under another id.

Nope, worked for me and has worked for several people on the board and others I know privately.
Ebay is buyer centric but they’ll listen if you push.
Of course, buyer keeps their refund - seller’s is a courtesy. But the buyer ends up on the radar, too.

... and then they open up another account and continue stealing.
The Money Back Guarantee has a huge theft loophole that eBay refuses to narrow.

If you force yourself @pointdexter to offer FREE RETURNS, the same thing happens: You pay for return shipping, JUST LIKE YOU JUST DID without free returns. But then you can deduct up to 50% if you get a junk poin back!
