SALES DOWN!? Looks at this!

Been having issues with eBay on and off. Mainly on the app. All updated and on an iPhone 7. App purchases are 50% of eBay sales.

Im searching today for clothing items as well as others and the search comes up as NO SEARCH RESULTS FOUND.

Whats up with that!!!? How are we suppose to sell stuff?!

and it won't let me list.

We have become so dependent on this technology that we will kill ourselves with it soon. I was listening to NPR yesterday and some stooge from Micorsoft was blubbering on and on about how excited he was about AI, and the cloud, and Micorsoft Windows' versions would run peoples' lives for them. I wished I had a barf bag in my car. This technology is making people dumber, not smarter. People have become slaves to it. I saw this when IRMA caused people to lose their cellphone signals etc. People flipped out that they couldnt get online. They could care less about flooding, or losing their food, they just didn't know how to get along without Facebook or Instagram for a day or two. I thought they would riot. If terrorists were a bit smarter,  it would dawn on them to focus on taking down Wondows and/or the internet. THAT would be interesting. The, there would be NO SALES. No 911 dispatch. Nothing

It is only going to get worse.

My son is working on developing software  that will let oil companies handle most of the off shore drilling at one location on land.

It isn't immigrants killing jobs,  it is technology.

Humans are social creatures. Without social interaction we get depressed and start producing less hormones, social interaction is literally a primary definer of human evolution, and the internet has, sadly, made social interaction at the click of a button so much easier.

I know tons of people who think going out and meeting people is too much effort, most of the time I'm like that, I have friends I know in real life who I talk to more over the internet than I do face to face, most of the time I don't mind but sometimes it bothers me so I ask them to go out fishing or something.

For the social aspect of basic human instinct, the internet, Facebook, Myspace, et cetera, have been a godsend, a marvel of human ingenuity that allows for the need for social interaction to be filled with minimal effort and from anywhere in the world at the wave of a hand.

Unfortunately this also means people become extremely dependant on said technology because it's the main provider of said social interaction, and thus without it, people become irritable and sometimes even unreasonably aggravated to the point nearing what generally would be considered insanity.

It's unfortunate, really, but I can't really blame people for it, it's in their instinct.

*edit*

I think a good term for it would be an overdose of social gratification through technology.

Just spoke to a man ebay rep o the phone.

She said they have been doing updates the last few days and that MANY buyers have called with major issues viewing listings.

It's not just me and a few others. It's OUR buyers who physically CANNOT buy our items. The rep said that word per word! Amazing.

And they wonder why the big A is doing so much more business. A buyer will log in, or even a new buyer lets say, they'll have a bad experience and NEVER COME BACK. I mean if I was a first time eBay buyer and saw all this nonsense, I would NEVER waste my time again on here.

Buyers buy online for convenience...glitches are NOT convenient for our buyers.

This morning I wasn't even able to list...I know we agreed that we HAVE to deal with this stuff in the user agreement when making an account..but I feel we do deserve compensation.

eBay doesn't care if WE loose out on sales, because they'll raise our FVF's like they did a few months back to make up for the lost sales. In the end, they loose nothing.

Abe, that has been going on since the begining of the year, ever since they started the massive unwanted seller changes.  I have had many tell me they search and get zero results, frequently.  The site is going to be like this for the next year since that is how long it is going to take to transform everyone to this 90s style garbage.  Then they will work on a new search!  Again!

This will never end.  We are doomed here.

Really beg to differ on this - it's brought teen suicide,  higher terrorist communications, depression, adult suicide, bullying, libel and defamation like never before, crazy people committing horrendous crimes (including murder) just to put a video on that awful facebook for "views" and "likes". It's making people sick and crazed, IMO.  Avoid it like the plague - because in a sense, it is a plague on humanity. A scary one at that.

IMO technology hasn't caused any of that - it has just ensured that it gets wide coverage in the media.

When a kid who is bullied at school commits suicide, no one in the media pays much attention. But if that kid was bullied via Facebook, it gets national attention as the Facebook Bullying Suicide.

When a person gets murdered selling a set of used tires, no one in the media pays much attention. But if those tires were sold on Craigslist, suddenly the nation hears about the Craigslist Tire Killer.

Facebook and Craigslist are easy targets for lazy people who want to find something to blame without looking too hard at the real problem.

Sales continue to diminish after opting in to guaranteed delivery. Sales went from $1,000 a week to $300 a week!!!

I will admit I'm not listing as much, but I still hahe around $1,000 listings.. think it's the lack of work? That's my guess. But still tons of inventory avaiable.

Also the new markdown manager is horrible and maybe causing issues?

There is no true social interaction on the web. What is there are bogus and phony substitutes for real social interaction. Don't be brainwashed.
