My sales here continue on the decline. I keep hoping that eBay will fix all the issues but it has been a month since the rollout and things seem to be getting worse instead of better. Lack of sales, bogus views, popular items with many watchers not completing. I have had items listed here for two months with watchers but no sales sell in less than an hour when posted on another site just this morning. I have also cancelled all my promoted listings as they were not seeing much traffic. I know watchers are no indication of sales but not only are the number of them way down but the conversion rate I used to see is way off as well. I hope I am wrong but eBay seems to be circling the drain at least for us small sellers.
In addition, I think the drop shippers are burning a lot of buyers. They have the volume to keep their feedback at a decent rate but if you look at their numbers there are thousands of buyers who have gotten disgusted by either not getting their order. thinking it was in the US only to discover that it was coming from China & taking forever, or having it be damaged by poor packing. I think it is fraudulent to list an item showing a location in the US when it isn't.
Enough venting for one day. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday & Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

I called about GTC listings last month and they assured me that the relisted GTC items would get a new ebay # after they roll over.
How can they carry over the views/watchers #s if the item has new #s?
Also, I see an immediate # of views when I list a new item - often within 10 seconds of posting. (I've been checking, just for the entertainment value). Something is crazy. Even if the # of immediate views were from people with that item on their 'watch list for new items', it doesn't make sense...

Nothing is making sense out of this GTC...they promised better sales...well it's just not happening with me.

Thanks Juliet, I needed a good laugh since my sales are way down as well.
I may have to think about taking up CBD oil to calm my nerves also.
Really hoping and praying that they reverse the horrible GTC policy that doesn't work for many sellers.
My store was working just fine before and they received a lot more final value fees from me.
Now they are getting half the money just like me, Not very smart !
Thinking after they loose millions they will reconsider.
Good luck to all those affected by this.

GTC is Good Til Cancelled....your Buy It Now or Best Offer items (not an on-line auction item) is listed until it is either sold or the seller ends the listing. Before the change you could list an item for 3, 5, 7, 10, 30 days and / or good til cancelled. Not anymore. eBay has taken away any control the sellers had and it is definitely a killer for sales.

Some of us have been using it for years and we like using it.

A GTC listing will have the same item number from the time you list it, until you end it or it sells out, the item number does not change.

Selling on Ebay has become a ridiculous venture. I do not want to even look at my listings any more since it is so depressing. Hard to believe this site could get this bad .I never would have thought a few years ago that it would turn out like this.

re: India reps
"Hello, my name is Steeeeeeeev. How may you help me, yesterday?". To which I am tempted to reply, "My name is Haji. I'm telling you something now, Steeeeeeeev.". It's like getting thrust into an old SNL skit. Except it ain't funny. In fact, it sucks.

I've had a choice to use it for years now and chose not to because it don't benefit me.. Glad it works for you,, just just think if they started to force you to use a feature you have chosen not to use.. and your sales fall 60 some odd percent.. I think you would be a bit upset as well..

If I only sold 4 items in 4 months like you, I doubt it would bother me either.. some of us are used to hundreds a month in sales and this is a disaster for us..

Hi! I have sold online since 1998 and when I read your post/email I felt like it was me posting that as everything you spoken about is dead on...and I cannot understand for the bad decisions that EBay is making which seems to just get worse as each decision is made. I understand the market has changed, and at one time about 98% of the items I would list would sell. Not anymore, I've listed tons of high quality items but most people know that the market for high end items are very slow sales...Ebay is forgetting that not everyone can afford those such items, a person who collects on a budget isn't going to find those things on Ebay for the fact that (like you stated) too many risk as fees and shipping cost are more than what you can sell those items for. Which only gives us sellers an option of selling higher end items...but like you stated that is a huge risk too. I sold a few items that were over 200 dollars only having to refund because of paypal. One item sold 154 days and 176 days before paypal stated I had to refund buyer...also items were damaged by buyer when returned which means I'm more out of the money then what I had to refund as items could not be resold. I agree with you friend, Ebay has got to do something for sellers...before Ebay is no longer....really sad. For what's it worth I'll be praying for you....The Parent family
