I am " old school" ebay seller & Buyer (2003). at that time, I would list a item on Ebay and it would sell, I would be notified by ebay who the buyer was. I would place the item in an enevelope (collectable stamps),address it, place a stamp on the envelope and take to the post office and mail it. I would wait for a feedback frome the buyer , to know that the buyer received it. Does ebay now follow the same procedure without costing money. if so can you tell me how , I am 91 years old and attempting to sell my collection of stamps of the last 50 years. approxatley near 1,000 items. Please help me !

Not sure what that meant. And I don't know what or if you sell anything.
So, the topic is selling stamps...a little larger than a standard flat envelope I can do certified mail if it is an expensive lot......and I do not use eBay shipping of anything....only USPS...get tracking and a receipt in my hand.
And keep in mind the age of the person asking for help....it's not someone 21 years of age

To Mr bara-no-kitte - the most important thing is ebay is not the yard sale it used to be. No one is pulling up in a car and selling out of the boot. If you were looking to have a little fun in addition to making some cash you will probably end up being annoyed, a lot.
If you have a good collection, you might think about consigning it to a philatelic house at 25% fee but letting them take all the risk and hassle.
You can to some extent still sell stamps that way - it is how I sell postcards and postal history - but all payments go through ebay and then to a bank account you will designate to them.
