I actually sell on a different account but have noticed that recently, eBay has not only had the "similar viewed items" bar at the top of my listings but has now added multiple rows of other people's stuff at the bottom of most of them, including "search by color," "search by style," etc and so forth. There is often also a row of other eBayers' promoted listings after that.
At first, I thought maybe nothing could be done about removing any of this until I saw an eBay store today that has NO other ads of people's stuff in their listings, not even the "similar viewed items" bar at the top. Nothing. I looked through a bunch of their listings, too. It is not a big box seller either but looks to be an average joe. Does anyone know how he might have accomplished this? Thanks!

I believe if you go into your Site preferences, you will find the option. I think it is under Marketing.
Hopefully someone else will be along to weigh in on this.
But you know that your listings are also shown on other seller's listings, so consider if you want that to stop, too.

Those rows of promoted listings are generating income for eBay so they aren't going anywhere.

I dont think a lot of sellers realize that EBAY is showing other sellers advertisements on all of their listings pages. What you the seller see and what the buyers see is 2 different things and no ebay wont stop the practice even though its literally driving your customers away to their preffered vendors who pay them handsomely to take away your customers. Ebay as a company is greedy and unfair and does things like this so get used to it if you plan to sell here in the future. Even though you pay them to list your items here they only care if someone buys from EBAY not necessarily you as a vendor. They will happily poach and redirect your sales.

If you sign out and look at your own listings, you will see lots of other promoted sellers on a bunch of your listings as well.

On your MY EBAY Page hover over ACCOUNT, this opens up the drop down, select MARKETING TOOLS. On the left side of that page under Item Promotion is 'Promote Similar Items'. Click there and you'll find the opt out of others seller's items appearing on your pages, and yours in turn, won't appear on theirs.
I keep seeing this as a solution, but I believe that it is incorrect.
Opting out of Cross-promotions only keeps your items from showing in other places ... it does not keep other items from showing on yours.

When someone finally clicks on your listing, you want them to look at it. Who cares if yours don't show when they click on someone elses listing.

Interesting...would you say that doing that has helped your sales? I would imagine it has....

sodelight- you are the one who is wrong. I am a small seller and I opted out of cross promoting listings for this reason. You don't see other sellers listing on my page anywhere but it is true that mine won't show on other sellers pages.
What are you talking about?? I'm wrong about what? Why don't you go to the page and actually read it. If you opt out of promoting listings your stuff won't show up on other sellers pages, nor will theirs show up on yours. I said the SAME thing you stated! I'm NOT wrong with what I posted. You didn't read my post correctly apparently.

I think that that poster got confused, because penguins_don't_fly had quoted you; so he/she saw your name at the beginning of penguins' post.

Your wrong. Otherwise what would be the point of opting out. Why does everyone have to debate even things that are stated right on ebay itself! It's really annoying.
I guess I'll stop trying to help people. Did you actually go to the page and READ it!! I see no other seller's listings on my account where I'm opted out, showing on my item pages.
I'm done with this. Tires of all the know-it-alls.
I wasn't arguing, I said I didn't believe that opting out worked like that. It's called "having a discussion".
It sure doesn't work on the app ... this is one of your listings as seen on the Android app.
