Rollo Label Printer--Why did I wait So Long to Get One?

Loving this label maker. Rollo. Saves me time, paper, ink.  Why did I wait so long?

Rollo Label Printer--Why did I wait So Long to Get One?

Thanks for the tip. I print labels on an ancient laser printer that prints thousands of pages per toner cartridge, each of which cost about $12. Let's say a half penny per page for toner. I print the labels on sticky-backed label paper that costs 5.5 cents per label.  If I print roughly 200 labels per year, my label cost is about $12.  It looks like a Rollo printer would cost around $250 and move my printing cost per label to around a half cent per label, or about $1 per year. So, a Rollo printer costs $250 and saves me $11 per year, which is a rate of return of less than 8%. I can do better. Of course, you sell at higher volumes than I do so it makes more sense for you.

I hadn't heard of that brand.  I used a refurbished Zebra for about 10 years. It was a workhorse until it stopped printing correctly about 10 months ago.  Thermal printers are great, aren't they? I got so spoiled with just peeling off a label and sticking it to a package, with no cutting or taping needed.

I can't use my laser printer for sticky labels. The toner chips off during package handling, so much that some packages went missing because the label couldn't be read by the time it had been handled a few days.  So I'm back to printing on regular paper and then cutting and taping over the whole label for now.  I'll have to look into the Rollo and see how it compares to a similar Zebra.

You don't "know" until you try it (thermal label printer).

I used to use a standard LaserJet printer to print half sheet labels. Always had reasons why it would be better than getting a thermal printer.

My first thermal printer was a refurbished Rollo (purchased on eBay of course). Still going strong. No going back for me. I even print packing slips on the Rollo using the thermal labels.

Thermal printers are great!

I have had a great experience with the Dymo 4XL printer. Very easy to use and no issues or problems yet. (Knock on wood)

It is just not the cost of label and savings on Ink.

It is time. You eliminate the time to wait for the printer to print the page, cut the label off and use tape to tape it to the box.  Now all you do is peel and stick it to the box. The time saver and money saver makes this one of the best investment if your mailing a lot of things out.

I have zebra not rollo. But thermal printer is very good.

The labels that get misprinted can be cut and use as stickers for boxes for inventory.
