Rip off by customer

I had an item by Harley Davidson.. A metal pendant.  Sold for $50 in completed listings.  I could do it.. Do I put it at auction starting 1 cent. It sold at close to $10 plus 3.33 post.  I mailed it in regular  first class letter envelope without  tracking.. It went out of state  but still in lower 48. I didn't worry.  A few months went by.  No feedback but still no worries . Then I hear from PayPal  ..buyrr says purchase eS not authorized ...that was a new one for me.  PayPal paid him a totaL refund and charged me dame amount.  I notify PayPal  to find out what it's all about and tell them I never received  item back. lap that buyer never contacted me or eBay.. What's going on? PayPal  toss me its there policy that buyer need not return  item. And now I must pay PayPal  full amount.  Question is  how wS I to know this purchase  eS not authorized?  After checking  buyers purchase  history.. It's all Harley Davidson  items.  I think he found s way to get an item free.. Keep it and make me pay for it.. A second time.  PayPal  needs to make a change  in that policy. All I can do is Nothing except to always get tracking.. Or never sell to a new buyer again ..how does one make any profit doing business honestly when dverything is against you?

This should be a cheap lesson, always use tracking.

The buyer actually went the hard route. He could have said he did not receive his item and won in a minute since you can't prove it was delivered Maybe he didn't actually get the item. It would have been too late for him to file on eBay so he took a different route.

How big was the pendent that it could be letter post? Maybe the PO didn't deliver it. Don't make things harder then they need to be.

Sending a metal pendant in a plain white envelope was asking for trouble regardless of no tracking.

It probably got ripped open during processing.

If the buyer buys a lot of HD stuff it's possible they really didn't remember the purchase and that's why they filed UA purchase.

Sorry you lost out, but next time shell out the $2.61 for a padded mailer with tracking.
