Returns Question

As a new seller, I now have 12 listings. In Seller Hub, it informs that all of them need to be adjusted: Returns Accepted, Buyer, 14 Days, Money Back, policy #32164283. What have I done wrong? Indeed, where are all of the policies listed? Perhaps I could choose another??

Hi @lindac871! For items to be eligible for the 14 day return policy, they must be listed in these categories:

  • Camera Drones
  • Camera Lenses
  • Collectibles & Art
  • Digital Cameras
  • Jewelry
  • Medical & Mobility

Any other category would have to have these return rule options:

  • No returns
  • 30-day buyer-paid returns
  • 30-day free returns
  • 60-day buyer-paid returns
  • 60-day free returns

You can get more detail information on setting up your return policies from the help pages here. Hopefully this helps answer your question!

Are you saying it's requiring you to have a return policy?

I don't think that's the case. I've looked at your listings and see that you do have a a return policy, which is fine if you want it. But my guess is that you hadn't checked the box with the policy or that you don't accept returns.

It sounds like you might have left some boxes unchecked and you needed to pick an option.

Returns Question

OK Devon, I entered No Returns Accepted Unless Item Was Not as Described & changed to this in all of my items. Not a hitch there. But right under this, which I assume is an eBay default, appeared Accepted

Ok Devon, I added a shipping policy, No Returns Unless Not as Described, & changed all my listings to say this. Then, immediately under this policy appeared Accepted - 30 Days - Buyer -Money Back. I assume this is an eBay default protecting both the buyer & the seller?  I could not delete this.  So... actually, the buyer can return in 30 days?

I just want to be clear on this. It's confusing to me.

Boy, you can say that ^^^ again. I've never seen the verbiage you are seeing, but right now your Return policy is 30-Days (buyer pays return shipping) on your current listings.

You should be able to change it to 'No Returns' (not a big fan), though. There's no default  that it reverts to. 🤔

Thank you for the tag @albertabrightalberta. Just as @mtgraves7984 mentioned @lindac871  you want to make sure when you are setting up your return policy that if you do not want to accept any returns you uncheck "Domestic returns accepted". Even with this unchecked buyers would still have the ability to open an item not as described case within 30 days of the latest estimated delivery date or actual delivery date.

Returns Question

Alberta, there wasn't a box that I could uncheck. I never even saw one that had been checked. Please check one or two of my listings & tell me what you see. Thanks.

@lindac871

I'm seeing that your 12 listings accept returns.

Returns Question

You might also want to check that eBay doesn't have Offers checked , to be "helpful".  I wrote a few drafts this week and had to make sure to un-check it on each one.   Unless you want lowballs, at least.
